not in Whistler anymore :/
does that confirm he's done? It doesn't surprise me that he would take a break, but I refuse to believe he won't come back. He has to be leaving a good bit of money on the table. And he still has so much more in him. Just doesn't make sense.
you really think someone who is linked to a career end due to environmental concerns is worried about money?

Is this reason confirmed? I respect it but I wonder what career path he can take? Regardless of what you do in the bike industry it always contains heavy travel, nature of the beast...

Based on what appeared to be lackluster effort this season, I don't really think the reason for retiring really matters, it was obvious he wasn't into it.

Theres a rumours he's liking the green stuff these days (I don't have an issue with that) but its far from being a motivational pass time to be honest its fun while it last but if your going to turn all hippie and shit and throw away a career its clearly not that great.

Long live performance decreasing drugs in MTB.

Oops, I mean "medicine".

This shiz is getting way too straight-laced, moto-sponsor-mumbling mixed with roadie-ism.

If Ratboy has quit for environmental/carbon footprint reasons, it certainly hasn't stopped him entering the NZ Enduro and travelling over there....

I called it after that foot/ankle nightmere injury. Ya ya, he won a single won after that. But it was obvious that was a career ender.

That foot injury he had can be a career ender for athletes in other sports. I just hope all this wayward thinking isn't influenced by the funky lettuce, he'll regret that.....

Once upon time, a boat was sent,
To the south it sailed,
Many sights it saw,
A Trojan horse crossing chasms both far and wide,
In it was stowed a Scotsman,
With shore on the horizon a new vision appeared,
Built with wood working tools from Merthyr,
and able to withstand chemical 86,
A sight of beauty,
a melting of cultures were seen,
Haggis, Croissants, Sushi and Kumara,
The seas flattened,
Dogs took their last supper on alpine heights,
The air was still, but the storm passed by,
Broken suddenly,
A blue oval, roaring like the hounds of hell,
A bull upon its crown and a new fire burning,
After sound came sight,
and smell
A rich mix, departing into the distance and out of our beams,
There we sat, longing , dreaming
50 stars we saw floating over,
a vision of valleys in a princes kingdom,
with that we slept,
knowing,
waiting,
that one day soon,
a winning yeti we could come forth,
and join
the purest church of all.

chemical 86 = Radon bikes.
Haggis, Croissants, Sushi and Kumara = Scottish, French, Japanese, New Zealand (riders? Team?)
Merthyr = Wales tool manufacturing? Dunno!

Then Yeti, 50 stars (USA?), Blue Oval (ford sponsors?)

Sheesh, a lot in there. haha.
