The bunker at parliament
Yeah yeah I know braking the rules..... FIGHT THE POWER!!!!! :fans:

Was international women's day today.
So to celebrate it I took 33 refugee women bike riding.
Many of them had never ridden a bike before and experienced the fun and freedom it gives so between that and language issues it was a challenge.

Original plan was just Syrian refugee women but in the end we also had women from all over the place including;
Rohingya
Tamil
Somalian
West African (I think Congo but not sure)
Acehnese
West Papua
Central America

It really was a great buzz seeing them go from never having been on a bike, and then 2 hours later zooming around with these massive grin's, loads of shrieking laughter and just not wanting to stop!
Even got a few of them hooning around the kids MTB track and gaining so much confidence every lap.
Was also really great to get them out of their normal ethinic social grouping and meeting all these other women from around the world who have all become refugees and now found a new home.
The ladies we had instructing them were so awesome!
They were from quite a number of different places too, women from England, NZ, Aussie, Netherlands, Canada, USA.

I think today, today I did it right. :weee:

Super rad. You have maybe, might have, redeemed yourself from deleting the "last person to post" thread. ;)
