'Morning. I swam a little under two miles in the local swimming hole last night. Very choppy water...I felt like I was in a damn washing machine. That was some slow (and tiring) going. I'm fixing to ride three hours on the roads today once this rain clears out. Wife is currently prepping pancakes. SWEET!

just stating in on a double espresso in the camper. Looking out the window at the ladies leaving their living quarters trailers walking off to go feed and get their horses ready for competition. Going for a road ride this evening, can you say hill work...oh yeah!!

Here. At swim with Haley right now. She's working on her breast stroke and is almost up to half a length. She was a major PITA last night and all of her toys were relocated to the basement after she went to bed. She has her books, markers, and notepad to amuse herself for the next two days.
Planning on a shuttle assisted trail ride tomorrow am. Wifey is okay with me signing up for an Enduro in 2 months if it will get me training. I think I like this game because it means more dirt time. A trail ride with full-face recommended downhill sections did not register as dangerous, so I running with it. @Nick had volunteered to be team fat boy support, which means awesome wrench help, ftw.

Fucking moron. Lady brought her dog to the horse show and only cracked the rear window two inches and left her dog inside. We made an announcement that they need to go to the car and get the dog or we would break the window. New state law let's EMS rescue any animal or child locked in a hot car by breaking the window. Good to be EMS. Lady had all sorts of excuses. I told her there was no excuse and she was a minute from me shattering the window and taking the dog. She left in the car with the dog.

In hell. Welcome!
Replaced well worn and faded headlamps on Beetle with new fancy aftermarket ones. Car now looks 100% better, it only cost me a few patches of skin on my clumsy fingers. That car is such a PITA to work on...

13 miles of XC single track river trail with 1100 feet of gain and loss, wimpy by Colorado standards but still a good workout and a quite enjoyable. Now I have to clean up and be social at a friends annual summer cookout. I predict scotch, smiling like and idiot and maybe making small talk before more scotch.

Went full dentist. Picked up a set of Reynolds carbon AM wheels. Holy crap the bike handles much quicker now, almost twitchy like my older 26" Turner.

Wife and I spent the day doing laps at Trestle DH, perfect conditions.

Now plotting where to ride tomorrow.

Haley's bike is progressing well. I fucked up the fork again today, but it looks fixable without restarting.

Remember what I said about disc wheels
$235 total cost for frame, fork, seat clamp, HS install, and XTR brakes. I doubt I'll be putting disc on anytime soon (or likely ever). If I'm spending real coin, I putting it into the Yeti 4x I just found for $1200.

Rox. The only guy riding Shwalbes today had two flats. The first spot we hit up was hilariously tech; we're talking we went 10km in almost 2 hours.

Awesome day. Back to rain tomorrow...

Great road ride after the days show at Osierlea ( walked 8 miles around the showgrounds). Rode up San Juan Canyon to Fremont Peak/ I forgot how sustained that climb is, the head wind tonight was brutal to boot. Great cardio workout going up and a screaming fast ride coming back down I hit 41 mph, total blast
