Great ride last night, not often I get to rip a top-to-bottom-no-stop descent with very few people in this particular trail system. It's a sub-13 minute ass whoopin', apparently.

For the yokals: yesterday was an even day, so it was National Apex Day. Enchanted to the Gut. My friend Ian said he's probably ridden that trail 100's of times, and it still puts a smile on his face Every. Single. Time. ¡Muy delicioso!

Tonight we stick stickers on the race car. I'll take pictures.

First night ride of the year. Love night rides, but also hate to see the long days gone.

My mechanic sucks. He forgot to put the pad retaining pin back in the caliper after changing pads. They popped out on the trail and I didn't notice until we stopped after a climb. Retraced my steps and actually found both pads and the spreader spring. Pried the calipers open with my multitool, popped the pads and spring back in, used a zip tie for the retaining pin, Bob's your uncle, and I'm back on the trail.

Good Morning!!!

It's a beautiful Indian Summer day out there....I'm going to have to go find a job to "measure" so I can get out of this office for awhile. I was working a little late yesterday, and thought I was the only one left in my cubicle farm, and farted right as the cleaning lady came by. What's the Spanish phrase for "Mr. Farty Pants" - cause I'm sure that's what she said.

It starts innocently....you wouldn't notice it at first...but that's all it takes - just someone to NOT notice, then it multiplies and takes over an entire house for nearly two months. I looked into the fridge this morning, and there it was - Pumpkin Spice Creamer.

Dammit.

It was 90 yesterday for my post-work ride--WTF? Still had a fun spin. Somehow made my back unhappy putting on socks this morning but I have a feeling a lot of beer after work will help loosen it up.

Mornin!

Spent most of last night destroying the unruly weed patch in my backyard. Gonna do my best to get the back yard in decent enough shape to plant grass before winter so hopefully come next spring everything will look spiffy when we put the house on the market.

Granite guys come this afternoon. I'm oddly excited.

In hell. Welcome!
Morning! Rain's gone but wind is persisting today. Moar rain coming tomorrow, meh. Two days of not riding make me grumpy, gonna fix that this evening.

I'd cleared a path for you around 3:40ish. 13 minutes top down to the very bottom of Apex is ridiculously fast!

Super nice weather outside and I am sitting inside with my busted ankle hoping it will heal quickly. At least my new leaf blower has shipped. Got a battery powered version with a 52V battery so it should have a good amount of power. Should help keep the lawn clean and avoid too much sweeping.

I think I can take another 30-60 seconds off that. Appreciate ya clearing it for me!

I can't say I've ever been able to ride that T2B without yielding somewhere a couple two-tree times.
Yeah it was good, real good. Gave my riding partners about a minute lead out, then caught them. Then we caught some other folks descending who pulled over after a bit so... no yielding or stopping but maybe slowed up a bit here and there? But yeah... so good to get a (mostly) clear trail on that one. @mtg has nearly a minute on me, so I'll be chasing that time the rest of the fall ha ha.

First night ride for me last night too. Felt like a n00b out there, didn't help that I mounted my helmet light in the wrong spot. And then my bar light shut off twice and the helmet light won't run on full power. Gotta figure out whats up with that...

It was also crazy humid and hot last night. We didn't even go very far but I felt absolutely dead and cooked by the end.

Region 7 Dressage finals start today. My wife rides a third level freestyle at 11:10 this morning.
Thats awesome Eric. We switched barns and trainer this year. We've been really happy but we pulled our daughter out of 1/2 of the competitions this year so she could focus on training.

You'd be waiting for a few minutes for me at the bottom, I think I'm about 16minutes at my I don't want to die or run anyone over speed. (Enchanted sign to gate at the bottom.)

Running a Sous Vide for dinner tonight. Smoked a whole venison shoulder for two hours last night in the rain, moved it to the vacuum bag about 1900. Should be done for lunch based on the weight. Also it is deboned so should reduce total time as well. Running at 150°. If this works out well I plan on purchasing a nice stand alone unit

Giddy like a school girl. Whistler trip #2 in T minus 3 days. Only two more days to get through at work. Tuned up and packed the bike. Almost have everything ready to roll.

Hell no. Selling the house, putting all of our stuff into storage and trying to spend a year traveling the country.
This guy is jealous. I wish I had taken advantage of that when I was able to. Also had gone to Everest. That would have been awesome.

Are you using someone else's sous vide unit or using the cooler method with the hot water? I like the pre-smoke step you've got going on there - much better than afterwards in my experience. I've only used a cooler and never one of those nice units, but sous vide is a fantastic way to go with venison. Strong work!

Right now I am using a janky cooler, a water pump and an electric roasting pan.

If I like how it comes out I will spend the 100 bucks on the stand alone unit that sticks to any bucket/pan.

Really looking forward to the smell that's gonna fill the house when I give it the final sear
