Good news from the vet. Dog has some sort of intestinal bacteria/cootie. Fist full of drugs should take care of him, least for a while. Vet thinks he's doing remarkably well given his age. Any day I can take a sick, old dog to the vet and not have to put him down is a winner.

My old pup came down with what I know believe was a bad case of pancreatitis when he was thirteen. He barely ate anything for two weeks, I thought he was done for. Then he woke up one morning in good spirits and was happy as a clam for another three years.

I would live in Western Canada (Squamish) if they would let me. JH is a pretty fucking awesome second, though!
Have you though about moving to Canuckistan?
I have, but without being a fluent French speaker or coming with some serious diversity, it is almost impossible (when young). When over 35, it is impossible.

Guaranteed that's a millennial postal person.

:D
$20 says they’re over 50.
I'd move to pretty much *anywhere* in British Columbia if they would let me...
I have enough points to immigrate to NZ and probably Canada—haven’t checked the latter. Too far from everyone in my family for the first and way too expensive in BC for the second. Have you checked Vancouver BC prices recently?

Bummer. Just out of curiosity, did you grow up in English schools? Your English is beyond excellent.
Thank you, I am humbled. I started learning English at age 14, in an evening language school that my parents were paying for. We didn't have many opportunities to learn English as kids in regular schools then, Russian was mandatory and German was also pretty common. I wish I had the opportunity to learn Latin but my education was heavy on math, physics and natural science instead.

I'm honestly curious about this... What do you mean? If you had a job lined up, they still wouldn't let you in. Despite being a professional?

I never would have guessed English was not your first language.

So to answer Toshi in regards to the GM position I was interviewing for. I decided to withdraw from consideration. Half the staff has quit due to the toxic actions of middle and upper management. I have no urge to jump in and try and put out the fire in a raging shit show where the powers that be cannot be removed. Its not worth my time.

for example the morning manager had gone home today, the acting GM (someone I would have to work with) came in and the on duty dispatcher looked at who she was going to have to finish her shift with, said hell no , I'm out of here and walked tossing him her keys....
