As a Playstation controller for a DH or MX game this thing could be pretty awesome.

Only if the object of the game is to do the biggest possible bar hump.
Yeah. You're right. Luckily playstation controller designers generally have a little more of a clue than Lee and all those fannies who're building stands for their bikes to learn manuals in their spare rooms.

that's why I said "could be"

Sooo, how high is the BB on this thing? Are those built to order?

IDK, but there is clearly something wrong with their welding setup (it looks fine on vitalmtb, as all the oxidation is probably brushed off).
Ti welds should be silver/light straw color, otherwise it means that Your inert gas coverege sucks, and the weld is contaminated (which will cause a weld failure sooner or later).
Check out their faceboob page, where You can see how do they look before "making it disappear" with a sand paper or whatever.

You can clearly see that there was some brushing involved, and even that didn't help. You can check out some Titanium weld color quality inspection charts to see what am I talking about...

FWIK they are made in Asia now. They were made in the uk a few years ago iirc.

Were they really made in the UK before? I mean beside some prototype 4X frame?
And you are right about the welds, looks pretty bad. They should just sand the frame to give it a Moots-like finish, voila, money!

Such a lovely mea culpa by Da Lizurds™: "We know we're doing it wrong, but we're still going to screw your lame ass without any lube whatsoever"
Chris Currie - Creative Director at Stan's NoTube said:
"Our hope is that if we all get to 157x12mm, we all stay there,"

"We should all be doing more to put the consumer first, and having four wheelsets in your garage that can't swap between bikes might not be improving the bike-ownership experience.
It seems a non-lizard person slipped through and managed to get a position in the industry. One would think that the job of the Creative Director would specifically be to invent and push new standards...

I'm afraid Mr. Currie probably has already been swiftly "taken care of". Lizards are notorious for having little patience for heretics.

Trek- We didn't create this version and don't appreciate "boost" being used. So, no, we're not going to use it. Besides, consumers are NOW tired of new standards cause we didn't push this one on them...

Stan's- Come on! We just got everything worked out for 148! Mtherf*%@ers! We dont...I mean, the consumers don't need anymore standards, dammit!

I9- We failed at 8 other attempts, we're going to do whatever it takes to make our 9th life last the longest!

*Specialized- Specialized has no comment at this time due to pending litigation over the use of the letter "S" in "Super boost", which Specialized has a trademark on.

Giant- Yeah, umm, so like,we're trying it on our one bike, but I'm not really sure why? Hey Phil, uhh, these guys wanna know about that new hub thing... Yeah no... We're not sure yet.

*Sram- FALCON 14 SPEED CASSETTE WITH A 75MM BOTTOM BRACKET!!!

*Just kidding...I think?

I know it won't happen, but it would kick ass to see SunRace, E13, and Box team up and come out with a new company that makes 3x9 and 2x10 setup with a 135-142mm hub that outsells shimano and sram in annual sales .

you should suggest elastomer suspension to them as well.
So many bikes sold in it he late 90's to late 2000's that are now unable to be serviced with any component above sis, or Altus. It's a shame that a "go green" industry produces so much waste.

if you're enough of a nerd to still be servicing a high end bike from that era, you're enough of a nerd to know how to source NOS components if a replacement is needed.

As much as we complain about change, the number of people lamenting the move away from doubles and triples in MTB is negligible.

also, the irony here is that all the products you're using as examples of things that are "obsolete" are still widely available.

Had a customer come in today with an old leftside shimano DX shifter (sti style for cantilever\u-brake) from ca 1991-92 and wanted spare sparts for it. When I offered him a replacement shifter for 10$ he complained about not stocking parts for it.

One of the things that is wrong with the industry is the customers.
