Last year up here in Maine we started to see a good amount of ticks in the woods. Nothing to crazy, but enough that you would give yourself a good tick check after any activity in the woods. This year is not the case. I have been finding them on me after every ride recently. I found one yesterday that was the size of a speck of dirt. This is a new problem for us, but I know a lot of you have been dealing with this crap for years now. What is the best way to deal with them? Not riding bikes in the woods is not an option.

Back on the grind. Today is too slow but I have to wait for some bigger things happening tomorrow.

Some good bike riding this long Holiday weekend. Mtb yesterday where I again was reminded that mtb risers just are more friendly and more fun. Plus mtb is just more fun. My bike may have a little more travel than necessary but makes it feel like a mini DH bike.

Repellent
Brush your legs off occasionally while riding
Check yourself post ride
Put dirty riding clothes straight into the washing machine
Check yourself again in the shower

I won't slather myself with chemicals, so I remove them when I find them walking on me. I get maybe two bites a year, find that it's immediately noticeable, painful itch, just remove them.

Mornin!

Ended up going to dinner with a friend last night. He ordered a bucket of beers for the table. Of 2 of us. Today I have the death farts again. I'm beginning to think beer isn't in the best interest of my digestive system.

Good Morning!!

It's a surprisingly sunny day out there....I was thinking we're getting rain for most of the day, but there's no complaints here. Sipped a little Scotch and played some music last night with some friends. I've got a ton of stuff to get done this week before we take off to the coast this weekend for a few days.....I think I'll put the majority of it off until the last second, then frantically throw things together and wonder what I've forgotten for the entire drive....

On the way to the aeropuerto for a conference in San Fran.

Oh - and easiest way to solve the tick problem: move west. I remember getting one in the sagebrush on my CT thru-hike back in '94... or was it '95?
Ive seen a few already this year.
Unless you mean further west. None in Nevada.

Haley for some reason felt that she should write her friend's name on the table last night. In pen. At etching pressure. I damn near threw her through the window. I rarely ever lose my temper and that was one of those occasions, which I think scared the shit out of her. I do feel bad about it, but dammit, that is a fucking expensive table.
Otherwise, here. M should be done today, so I'll probably get it tomorrow.
