Well son of a bitch. I missed it. The turning of a wounded maple leaf. I should have been more astute.
I hope you will accept my sincerest apology in errantly missing this greatest of dates.
Seriously, happy f*cking birthday. Drink a f*cking beer already.
Started off with:
Double Mountain Molten Lava (Imperial IPA): Wow. Kick ass.
Moved to:
Elysian Dayglow IPA (part of their Manic IPA series): Awesome citrus IPA. One of Elysian's best.
Then:
Goose Island The Illinois (Imperial IPA): Rather badass. I like it very much.
Then:
Laurelwood...
Had the 15th Anniversary Bottleworks beer last night. It's done by Lost Abbey and aged in tequila barrels. It was pretty awesome. Not as good as good as Firestone Walker's PNC (in regard to beers aged in tequila barrels) but it was definitely a solid beer.
Also had a Firestone Walker Abacus...
Last night:
Started with a Hoegaarden.
Moved to a Bruery Oude Tart (it was even better than the last time!! If you can find it, BUY IT!)
Finished with a Logsdon Saison Bretta (Holy crap. Gets better every time.)
Now: Bridgeport Kingpin (Triple hopped Double Red) - It's like a double red...
Olvalde Brewing Auroch's Horn aged on Rhubarb - This was an epic one. Not too much rhubarb taste and the finish is smooth. If there's any chance you're near Minnesota, pick one up.
Spent last week in Newport, OR. Here are the highlights of Rogue and a trip to Cascade in Portland:
Rogue Morimoto Imperial Pilsner: Yep, still a great beer.
Rogue Big Ass Barrel Blackberry: Barrel aged ale brewed with blackberries. It has just a hint of blackberry taste that is not...
you ever been to FX McRory's down by century link field? it has a selection like that too...don't know if it's quite as extensive or exotic, but it's in seattle.
To be fair, this is the same area of the country where a residential burglar accidentally shot himself with a stolen rifle because a lever on the stolen shotgun pulled the trigger of the rifle while he was driving away in a stolen truck.
Epic win.
