Big Caliper Little Rotor vs Opposite

Front range trails, Colorado, so loose over rock, lots of switchbacks, summer time = most rides from my door are ~ 2,500 vert feet. I'm probably 190lbs geared up. I don't generally need to do nose manuals, because 27.5. And I don't run SRAM brake pads, that might help. Truckerco pads grip...

Big Caliper Little Rotor vs Opposite

9 bikes in my garage with SRAM brakes, none of them have issues with stopping or needing more power. Sounds like a "you" issue.

    whatever happened to...

I must be hording all the unicorns. There's a CC shock and an MRP Ribbon on my daughter's RFX. Also a DVO Diamond on my hardtail, and a Mezzer Pro on my enduro. Happy with the performance of all them (Mezzer>Diamond>Ribbon).

in an interview afterwards, Zink said he wanted to do a cancan backflip, but got pushed off axis, so it wasn't intentional.

    Redbull Rampage 2023

It may have started somewhere else, but I blame R Willy for the over popularity of "let's go". I don't think I've ever gotten tired of a phrase so quickly. Man, I'm old. Gee did ride some Moab this year, too. Not quite our local, but close.

    Tips for Moab?

Google maps says 1h 30min less from SLC airport than from DIA. But still less.

Not sure why Lemoine's run was scored so low. Lots of guys stepping it up, though - great contest.

Bike Dads ASSemble! (picking a 20" ride for my 4.5 year old)

You're not going to get quality for cheap with the quantity they're building. And every now and then there are used ones for sale.

Bike Dads ASSemble! (picking a 20" ride for my 4.5 year old)

You likely haven't seen a Spawn Brood or Trailcraft tc30 up close yet. They work like real forks and are fairly light (cf lowers!).

    Feeling retro

Put the era appropriate stem on there, and your bars are right about at the fork crown. Way more aero.

New Whip? New toys for the dependable steed?

Not much saddle time yet, and I've already given up on the X2. Pretty sure it was valved for someone 50lbs heavier than me. Swapped it for a Super Deluxe with the proper LL tune, but haven't had dry trails to test it yet. But at least I get to dig.

But do you really need a dual crown fork when the single crown has the same amount of travel and can take the abuse?

Which one? Dt swiss ex511 or spank spike 359

Unless DT has changed their metal compounds lately (and judging my my neighbor's luck with them on his Smash, they haven't), they're not much better than Alex/ Transition/ Azonic. They ding real easy and straighten a few times before shitting the bed. IMO, Spank are somewhere between that and...

    Mullet Madness

They're actually longer (in the low setting) than the Sentinel, so why bother selling a mullet Patrol? Why not just offer a 27.5" rear wheel option and a flip chip for that bike? Guess the new Patrol goes off my list of bikes to replace my old Patrol.
