the problem involves the drive screw attached to the lever, you got lots of mud/sand/dirt in your drive screw and it stripped out after excessive unlubricated/abrasive use. you will need to buy a whole new caliper. i recommend rebuilding every 500 miles to check the threads, use a heavy water...
