The first specialized 2f0 shoes are really stiff. Best pedaling flat shoe I've tired. At first I hatted them because they were so stiff, then they broke in and provided a bit more feel while still being stiff enough to pedal quite a bit better than any 5.10 shoes I've owned. As you would expect...
Tread pattern looks similar to the old specialized clutch. I loved those tires. I would probably like these too but no little micro baby wheel size option. The clutch rolled slow as slugs. These look like they would roll a bit faster. The last WTB tire I ran was mark weir's model. The casing was...
Go to vegas, ride bootleg DH trails. You can pedal them on a trail bike, or truck shuttle a big bike. If you like steep, bootleg won't disappoint. St George UT, or San Diego CA are easy enough drives from there. Laguna beach north of SD has great riding. Noble canyon east of San Diego is a fun...
The best bone dry tire I've tired is the wild rockr'2. I personally feel the DHF is a badass bone dry tire, but it is very focused on drifting corners, not braking, climbing.... The rocker will surprise you at how well it finds traction on any hard surface both up and down even with fine sand...
Yep, DH, and mid weight casings seep sealant. I'm hoping one day we figure out how to reliably run tubeless dry. Sealant has never done anything for me other than set up tires. Typically it just weeps out the sidewalls, and piss all over the trail after a pinch.
120 tpi, mid weight casing made by CST like maxxis so yeah.
Too bad no 26". I would try the butcher though I prefer the OG version designed by Hill. I ran nothing but spec sx tires for years until they pulled the plug. It's about time they brought back a decent mid weight option. Now they just...
Total speculation on my part as to how durable the steel pins are. Yes, the same hollow design is why I'm assuming they will sheer easily. If you like the feel of little to no concave, and find the size to be adequate they could be great pedals for you.
I had the OG podium and the 2. I preferred the OG. If I remember correctly, they were both 100x100 but the 2's felt smaller under foot. Must have been the pin placement. I never measured, but I think the exaggerated chamfered edges on the 2 placed the pins closer together. They felt small to me...
I wouldn't say DMR hasn't caught up with other pedal companies. DMR was ahead of the game with platform size. Vaults were big when most flat pedals were under 100mmx100mm. They also didn't follow the thiner at all cost philosophy. It would be tough to make the vault any thiner and preserve the...
If you like lots of power early in the stroke you likely won't care for v4's. Real power comes on late in the stroke and they are weaker than z's across the board. v4's have a very soft engagement. This provides the best modulation I've experienced but when you're used to z's the v4 can feel...
Procore. Thought that was understood but I probably should have been more clear. REI is an outdoor gear retailer.

REI has some good deals going right now. 122 shipped was my price for 26" kit. Still not that cheap, but if it lets me run EXO's in the back it will be money well spent.
I have a 2015 36 rc2 160mm 20mm lowered to 150mm and a metric hlr 180. I like both The metric has a stiffer chassis but it's not a huge difference. As far as the dampers go it's six or half a dozen. I think the 36 fits your needs perfectly considering how light they are. You'll lose a fair...
From the description of Apex it sounds very similar to Super Gravity. It must be lighter than SG because the 27x2.6 weighs basically the same as 26x2.3 SG. If you haven't tried SG give that a try. I personally prefer Double Down, but like you, wish they were offered in wider sizes. SG is a...
Either there's been a materials breakthrough no one is talking about, or we'er simply seeing some mid weight casings being advertised as DH. I know which one I think is more likely. I would still try the lg1 if it was offered in 26. Lg1 weights are right inline with what I want for my all around...
I was thinking the same thing. It looks like they are trying to mix wet and dry capabilities but what I see doesn't look like it would work great in either. Part of me wonders if they made those big spaced out shoulder lugs simply because they look totally badass. I would be surprised if Fabian...
Isn't snake skin similar to EXO? I've only tried SG but I thought SK was an EXO equivalent.
Schwalbe lacks an aggressive dry conditions tire. For that reason I'm having a hard time seeing why you feel Schwalbe has better options than Maxxis. Maxxis covers everything from desert dry to slop...
