Anyone know what shops in the village are renting GT fury’s. I need to rent a DH bike for m’Lady next month and she’s short which makes it hard to find bikes that fit her (but I know Fury’s do).
Yeah. Back in the "good old days" no one ever did anything wrong. Everything was perfect and you were perfectly happy with everything in your life.
Oh wait...trails sucked, bikes sucked, there were hardly any trails (legal or illegal), and almost no one did trail maintenance.
I've...
Road/Commuter E-bikes are f-ing awesome. Pinning it around San Francisco on my Turbo Vado (and soon to be turbo Vado SL) is unbelievably fun (even ignoring the commuting functionality). It basically what you dream of as a little kid riding around town.
Ya. This is the second time in 2 years our house got robbed :(. It's one of the nice neighborhoods too!
Most recent one I have.
We'll see. They got my custom pedalhead too. Luckily I had the GGDH with me (was in Jackson Hole on a riding trip).
Have renters insurance. I'll probably...
Welp, this bike (and 7 others) got stolen out of my garage in San Francisco last night. Even while my buddy house sitting my house was sleeping over! :(
If you happen to see this bike anywhere around the world let me know. It's pretty unique
Ummmm, I wasn't serious about competing on climbs with people on acoustic bikes while riding my e-bike.
It's a pretty awesome ride when you are able to climb on a mini-DH bike significantly faster than the Strava KOMS on XC/road bikes though! Highly recommended. Definitely a...
I did 2500 feet on illegal trails yesterday on my YT Decoy at an otherwise legal riding destination in Marin Co. The best part of the ride was when we blew past a bunch of riders, while I'm pedaling a bike with DH tires, carting a full face Moto helmet, while holding ~14 mph up a 12% grade...
Pretty much liked everything on Seymour.
Today I hit up Froome and did basically dream weaver to dyer maker climb up. Then did a lap on oil can, then 7th, then down espresso (upper only) then across to lower ladies only, then up the fire road to do a lap on Crinkum/Crankum and Kirkford, then...
Thanks to those who gave some tips. I rode Seymour this evening. A little hung over from the weekend, but still managed a few laps. As Kidwoo predicted it would qualify as "moist" dirt in California probably (do they water the bottom of empress bypass?).
Rode Empress, Severed Dick, Incline...
Not sure if serious...?
Do I have to worry about my rental car getting broken into at the trailhead in Squamish/North Van? I was hoping outside of SF that's not such a problem :(
Awesome! Thanks for the tips. I figure one HAS to hit Half Nelson for a lap, right?
Yes! yes! That is exactly what I want to ride. Gnarly, but not too gnarly, and not huge hits. I'll check that route out Sunday afternoon, then head to Squamish Sun night and ride there Mon/Tuesday maybe?
So I'll have about 2.5 days to ride around Vancouver/Squamish next week. I'll be riding solo and have my megatrail with me. I figure I should check out some of the North shore trails and maybe Squamish since my only BC experience in the past is at bike parks. Is my best bet to just look on...
Sounds like it would be cool to try a lighter, less burly (~3lb) version on an XC hardtail. Maybe the amazing stiffness/weight could be a nice alternative to the step-cast like noddle forks.
I mean...not really probably. Li batteries aren't exactly expected to make some kind of 2x improvement in capacity/weight or something. Neither are motors. Both are very mature technologies at this point. Gains for the next few years will be marginal, not revolutionary. Unless you get some...
