I like the idea a lot. I live in the Baltimore area and I find it frustrating to choose between a 4 hour drive to one of the existing resorts, or a 1 hour drive to the Shed, plus setting up shuttles and whatnot.
I haven't been to Patapsco yet this season but a friend of mine informed em of this a couple of weeks ago....Sad, to say the least.
Unfortunately, it looks like we're going to have to go back to developing hidden trails.
Sportmanlike conduct in most forms of racing is that the slower racer yields to the faster racer. That goes for car racing, bike racing, motor or pedal...pretty much every form of racing other than NASCAR and maybe motocross/bikecross type events. In car racing, you can be black flagged for...
So, the weather report says temps to be in the 90s-100s all week. I rode 2 hours of XC in this heat on Saturday, and I still feel like someone took a wirebrush to my lungs.
So I'm gonna skip Patapsco this week unless it cools down a bit.
I can't tonight, but I'd like to set up a time to meet and ride off Landing Road sometime soon.
Does next Wed work for anyone? I could probably get there by 6-6:15.
Thank you for the responses guys...
Unfortunately it looks like I will not be making the VT trip after all....had some car trouble a couple of weeks ago, it's fixed but I don't know if I trust it over an 8 hour trip now.
I will keep Whiteface in mind for next year though!
Thanks....yeah I'd rather not go to Killington but the drive is one of the easiest...
I've skied there a few times - LAMEST place in Vermont, by far, to ski.
Northeast Monkies,
I might be attending a birthday party for a friend of mine in the Middlebury VT area Sunday 8/6...I'm considering driving up from Baltimore with my bike, so that I could do some riding on that Saturday, preferrably somewhere with a chairlift or freeride park. Even though I...
CORRECTION, I will not need to borrow a rear brake tomorrow morning...unbenounced to me and USPS tracking, my Avids arrived a few minutes ago. So no need to rip your bikes apart on my account.
Thank you anyway, I owe rm1 and JYETI beers :)
I'd definitely appreciate that if you don't mind, between you and rm1's avid mech I should be covered.
I'll have Alec give you a call today, I'm not real familiar w/ the parking spots up there so I'll let you guys work that out, I'm sure we'll drive together from here.
See ya tomorrow!
Pi, we should probably get up there a little earlier than 10 if we're gonna do a rear brake swap on my bike....I don't want to hold people up all morning while my bike is on the stand.
Or, you jerks can all leave me w/ the bike on the stand, the parts, and the keys to the shuttle truck and...
rm1 and Pi (ala Jason), I will definitely ride on Sunday if we can put together a back brake! Thanks a bunch, that's really cool.
I'll post up by saturday evening to confirm whether or not the package arrived and if I will need the spare.
Thanks again!
I actually replaced my Splice last week with a Marcocchi Dropoff III. The bike, and my riding, both improved 100% as a result.
Pics to come, waiting on an 8" rotor and adapter for the front.
