I have a few more sitting in my drawer. Can send you one for the cost of postage from Communist Canada, which seems to have gone up to about $7 cad these days.
Anyone know what happened to Blenki? A couple of guys came through that deck area & pulled over. I wondered if there were some spectators getting in the way or something?
Depends on what you're comparing them to. Vs the Scwalbe soft compound, yeah, I'm sure the Butchers suck. But vs. a DHF in a Maxxis max-whatever-the-intermediate-compound-is, they're on par, in my opinion.
Hey now. Don't drag me into your terrible brake-buying decisions... My Code's are 'ok' so far. A bit lacking in initial bight vs. my XTs and lever throw seems to increase on long descents, but I'm hoping metallic pad and a bleed will help on both fronts. The need for another bleed adapter on top...
At the stiffer end, I almost think there are too many spring rates for rear shocks. 500 to 550 lbs/in is only a 10% change. If you're running a 200lb/in spring because you weigh 130lbs on a low leverage bike, sure, but I don't think 25lb/in increments are necessary at the stiffer end.
Yup. Exactly as if the bead wasn't seated properly, except it was. One other guy in our group claimed he'd seen it also. I guess I'm now something like 1 for 6 for seeing this problem in Specialised tires, so I'd definitely give it a go again, but if I have the same thing happen Specialized's...
Slaughter Grid has been my go-to rear tire for a while on the trail bike now, but I had a weird thing happen to one the other day. Landed a hip jump fairly cleanly (I thought, at least). Tire burped, made a horrible sound, and as I rode out the landing the tire was rubbing on the frame. "Shit."...
Two things I observed last night:
1) These guys need to stop dropping f-bombs in interviews. Yeah, it shouldn't be a big deal, but you're a professional athlete. Act like it. Multiple guilty parties here.
2) Man, some of these pyjama suits are getting awfully tight again eh?
Leaving work. Grabbing beer. Racing starts in 3 and a half hours. I imagine things will get interesting in 5 hours. I am going to have to pace myself...
I work in engineering. Coming up with great ideas, planning my subsequent retirement to Hawaii, and choosing the colour of Bentley I'm going to get, only to realise someone else already has a patent on my exact idea is pretty much a daily occurrence for me.
You guys don't see the problem with winging about bikes being too flexy, whilst also complaining that they're too heavy when you put a coil shock on them? This is why we can't have nice things. Understand that engineering is a matter of compromise. For a given design, stiffness requires more...
