All i can say, is knolly is ****ing awesome.
Used to be made by Sapa, when that closed they were unfortunately in the middle of trying to produce their new line, and moved to over seas production.
However, there has never been a company that i have had better customer service and...
this is the main reason i hate 27.5, I'm only 5'10, ride mediums all the time as a like a smaller feel, and find that my riding style has always been active with lots of body movement, the gyroscope feel you mention i notice immediately when going up in wheel size, especially in the back.
the...
Spot on, rim and tire selection will make a difference as well, stock on the legend is just a hair under 64* i believe? expect just under 63 with the 27.5 and a normal sized tire, adding the dorado into the equation i would expect to be sitting at ~62.5, not unheard of for a head angle, but...
No, I have spent considerable time on dual 650's, and i didn't like it.
But when i think about it, it was mostly that i had problems with the larger diameter in the back, and limiting the in air mobility. I would be interested to try a 27.5/26 combo, Keep in mind that it will slacken out the...
Basically my entire thought process on this from the beginning, and what i tried to explain in my post on page 3, you just managed to put it down in 1/10th of the words
more so talking within the last 3 to 5 years, as they along, with specialized, seem to generally be setting the current trends in the LT market place (or closely following suit)
Where i'm currently located now is one of the meccas for the big wheel movement. My last two years working in a shop (two different ones) 29er sales equalled and then surpassed 26's within my final season season, and thus so i "believe" i was one of the first people in canada to actually run a...
NO THEY AREN'T this is the problem here, I've never been one to hate on wheel sizes, ride what ever you want, that's why the variety was there and it didn't bother me, 20, 24, 26, 29 all had their purposes and i enjoyed riding them all for different reasons, but to come out and say that 650b's...
There is definitely a limit to where things start to feel sketchy when going down hill. I found for my dj hard tails that even approaching the 23# mark gets a little shaky in the air when things aren't perfect.
All mountain bikes start feeling off to me at the 26-27# mark.
And DH bikes, the...
As i said in a previous post, i actually like it when brands put quantitative measures to their previous models as a way of showing the improvement, Santa Cruz did this when comparing the carbon nomad to the alu version. As i said, marketing it by saying the lightest strongest santa cruz to...
I have no problem with what the frame actually is, i'm just tired of their blatantly false marketing claims instead of using a qualitative reasoning for gains, such as other companies do when they say "XXX% stronger or stiffer than the previous model"
That wasn't a comment meant to say i hate...
Regardless of the feel and flex of the two frames, I hate santa cruz's stupid ****ing marketing claims. It is not the lightest dh frame on the market or ever, why are they claiming this?
Also with regards to strength, it's the strongest frame ever in what respect? headtube shearing? impact...
Wilson > Glory > Aurum > Demo
but hey that's just from my riding experience with each brand and their respective platforms, I have never been a fan of the feel of FSR, the bobby up and down pedaling characteristics that they claim is needed to achieve more "grip", just feels like crap to me, i...
All i can say is when i lived out west 80% of my riding was lift oriented and after having a "heavy" and reliable bike (42lbs) and then a "light" bike (33lbs), i would gladly sit on either side of the 40lb mark for longevity and complete DH destruction. Nothing worse than having a fantastic day...
This got me looking at it in another way....
cannondale has licensed different brand internals to go with their chassis, so why don't they make a "dually" accompanied with another brands internals (fox, avy, ect) seems like it would potentially fly off the shelf like hot cakes, cannondale...
