dont u think it's better to be actual measurements rather than published ones? btw can we also have downtube length, as it's easier to measure compared to stack/reach...
I need to know from Makulu owners what's the sizing like? I'm 6'/183cm tall... I had a medium Sunday and a large blindside.. dont like smaller bikes coz cant corner with them but too long it gets difficult in tight sections ... some input would be great!
The one that I rode had bushing play on the spring side.. again, noticeable at the workshop/carpark but not while riding... i wonder if it's the same like the current 40s - some play at full extension but none when compressed...
ridealot, do your seals fell a bit sticky? The one that i rode felt sticky at the carpark but didnt notice it while riding on the trails... What was your previous fork and how do they compare? i really like the fact that the fork rode high in its travel but not as harsh as the 40 at high LS...
Hey guys, anyone been on the Idylle long enough for a decent review/comments? Seems that there are no info at all and the searches didnt come up with anything either...
The issue with the blindside is that the leverage ratio at the first 1/3 - 1/2 of the travel is very high compared to the average ratio. This causes normal spring rate calculations i.e. tftuned etc. to give really soft ride characteristic. If you follow tftnued recommended spring rate, then ur...
Udi i think dhkid is talking about the spring for the boost valve inside the shock...
btw he's at 21% sag coz he has just lost some weight, usually it's closer to 30%, and even at the right sag he has been complaining about the same things about the dhx.
u suppose dhkid is part of that 10%...
Udi, I'm interested with the shock rebuild guide/instructions. I'm happy to do a dhx coil but havent done an air yet. Was gonna work on mine but waiting for a step by step first coz i cant figure out how to bleed it without special tools.
BTW i also done the oil in the main chamber tune...
i've seen quite a few bikes with similar problems on the dhx5. what i have tried and worked it the past could be due to three things, first its oversprung, 2nd rebound is too slow (packing up) or the shock is overdamped.
u can try a softer spring that actually is recommended for ur weight...
dont use the silicon based ones, they evaporate really quick. use teflon spray, that stays on really long, for really muddy races i will clean my tires at the start line and apply the spray. otherwise pushing the bike up will clog it up anyways...
sonax also make a really good product, its a...
Thanks for the input guys. Another thing is that the suspension design is similar to a Kona Stinky, would the Gran Mal ride like a stinky? Any body with experience on both bikes?
Hi monkeys just wanna know what people think about the gran mal as a DH race bike? The DH trails here are technical with nice rock sections and 10-20 foot jumps. The 3 inch stroke shock in the middle shuttle setting gives 64ish HA, 74 SA and 14.8 bb height, which looks good on paper. Anyone...
