    New Home...

We haven't gotten that far. At this point, my client is drawing sketches and picking materials. He is thinking of some huge windows. The north wall in his sketches is 35 feet tall. With 12 foot tall garage walls, that is still a pretty tall second story. He has huge banks of mulled windows in...

does someone do your job when...

man, nobody does my work for me. If I take time off...I usually work some 12 hr days beforehand and skip the weekends for a while to make up for it. I didn't take any days off between thanksgiving and christmas. I worked straight through so I could afford to visit my family for the holidays!

Power tools - woodworking - Xmas

I am also a woodworker and cabinetmaker. For 300 bucks- you can't get a decent dust collector (unless you ebay it). The kreg jig is super sweet! I use it for almost my entire cabinet assembly. A scroll saw is for small detail work They cut curves and decorative designs. I like mine, but I hardly...

    DIYers - cutting formica countertops

I am a licensed contractor who cuts this stuff all the time....use some painters masking tape, center it over your cut line (preferably the 1-1/2" wide blue tape) I would use a freud 40 tooth blade. and cut slowly. You will need to finish the cut with a sawzall or jigsaw.
