    I got my GF into an Apple 4 years ago, and never looked back. Start her off with some easy use stuff...Websurfing, e-mail, show her how integrated it is, show her Microsoft Office in Mac and she should be ok.

    Same thing happened to me with another website. Funny to say that I upgraded operating systems and it works fine now. I was using Camino at the time. I went from 10.2.8 to 10.3.9. I had to get a new computer shortly thereafter and now i'm running 10.4.8

    Webroot Spy sweeper + Anti-virus. Or AVG-Good free program. Excellent at preventing viruses. Doesn't eat to many system resources.

    I would Binary is right, in that it is a wiring problem. If it's a hardware problem I would say it's because of the hubs on the network. How many are connected in the network, because you can only run wire so far in between hubs.
