more then likely you have stuffed the bearings knocking them out, if you put too much pressure on the inner race you get play when all is put back together.
try new bearings
I've had around 2 years on these also, great pedal, the only down side is if you are riding in alot of mud - they tend to hold mud on the pedal opposed to a more open design that allow the mud to clear.
