i sorta do too. my feelings aside it really isn't my business if he wears one or not. i will be donating some in the next few days. i can only imagine how scary it must be for him and how overwhelmed his wife and family must be feeling. good thing the riding community also takes care of each other.
the beginning of your post doesn't really make sense, neither does the way you edited out part of what i said when you quoted me. i didn't call Mikey a "retard" i said it was retarded for him not to wear a helmet. meaning i didn't think it was smart considering he's a family man and such. i...
it's a personal choice, but he's not the only person affected by the choice is he? i'd also feel more willing to send him a hefty donation if he'd tried protecting himself in the first place. don't get me wrong, help the guy and his family out as much as possible. Not trying to turn this into a...
i'd have to agree with this. he does have insurance for his wife and child though, just to clarify that.
i know people always hate the flaming helmet Nazis but it's retarded for him not to wear one. simple piece of equipment that most likely could of lessened the severity of the situation...
i say get him on a mini like CMC suggested. it'll be much better for trails then a 16/18" BMX. having the larger wheels will be a plus and it'll be lighter. if he wanted to ride more BMX type stuff like parks and street then i'd definitely go with something else though.
you have atomlab hubs right? i think they make a conversion thing for their 20mm hubs to bring them down to 3/8's or so. also look into the identiti rebate rigid..cheaper and cleaner then the DMR but is available with a 20mm axle. the 20mm is actually awesome because the thru axle is super...
skinny tires roll noticeably faster. usually if you run a larger tire in back it's because you want to run lower pressure and feel a bit more cushion. small block 8's get pretty wide on wider rims. my 2.1 on a wide rim isn't skinny at all. i think a 1.9 in back will be fine. just don't run super...
SB8 would be my choice out of those for sure. they hold up super well, especially if you run them primarily on dirt. they do have XC thin side walls but the hold up fine even when pumped up real high. i got one flat using one riding street which isnt surprising since even super thick tires get...
LOL at the slopestyle course comments. great stuff.
good lookin bike. makes sense that they mite actually have a dialed DJ bike since Cam's been riding for them for the past few years. some sort of short travel fully with Cam's name on it would make sense too, maybe a 5" travel Session of...
ya, fixed freestyle or whatever you call it is pretty crazy actually. i like messing around on my fixie doing tricks, but nothing over the top that mite break parts at this point. i have 180'd though, but stopped after i fell pretty hard. it's fun stuff though.
looks good. your tires appear to be on backwards though which you may or may not be aware of. how do you like those grips? i had them and thought they were good feeling and lasted super long. so many people hate on them though for some reason.
20.75 is what you need i think. if you go shorter i think you will regret it right away and won't feel comfortable having your bars non-chicago style.(chicago=bars angled way forward). 8" bars make sense for average height and taller people. i'd say that's the reason so many people ride them...
learning new stuff is the best. 180's are oh so fun. love doing them down stair sets. bigger ones are scary but so fun. i don't have a huge bag of tricks at all personally, i just take the stuff i know and open it up on new lines i find. wouldn't mind learning a few more though.
i thought it was BTI but it's not listed on their site. all i know is one of the guys called Eastern right when they started making 26" stuff and got on board i believe. Eastern is supposedly really good to work with from a shop standpoint, atleast from what i hear. give em a call.
