I am feeling the same way. Washington seems to have excellent riding and the major bike parks in Canada aren't that far away. It seems like it might be the right way to go.
After looking into this quite a bit, I think it might be best/easiest to move to somewhere in Washington. I was thinking somewhere around Seattle, Tacoma, Bellingham, or Discovery Bay area. From Seattle there are 9 bike parks within 7 hours, many would be closer if I move to the Bellingham...
Thanks for that link, it is very helpful. I am liking the sound of Vancouver; I will have to look into that. And I am cool with living in a town too. I just need to be able to find work so no extremely small towns.
If you had a choice, what downhill oriented town in North America would you live in? Ideally it would be a town with a bike park that is lift operated. I ride Angel Fire Bike Park all summer here in New Mexico, but it seems like the town of Angel Fire would be a difficult one to live in with...
Some pretty mixed opinions. It seems like the glory is out but the session is a possibility. Maybe I should just wait until something else to comes along....
I wish that Banshee Legend were a little more in my price range! That thing is sweet!
I've searched the forums and there are a few threads sort of like this, but I figured I might ask the question anyway.
I am currently riding a 2010 Santa Cruz Bullit, but I find that it is a bit cramped for my liking (I'm 6' and it's a med).
I have found a couple bikes for sale, a 2010...
I just bought a used 2010 Santa Cruz Bullit. It has a Rockshox Vivid with a 500 X 2.75 coil on it right now, but that is way too stiff for me (I think I need a 400, I am about 180lbs). Will a 400 X 3.0 fit the frame without any consequences? I guess what I am concerned about is the the stroke...
I posted this in the BMX & Dirt Jumping section but thought I might as well post it here too. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated-
A couple of people I am friends with (Pro mountainboarders) were beat within an inch of their lives a couple days ago at a skatepark in Denver. A group of...
A couple of people I am friends with (Pro mountainboarders) were beat within an inch of their lives a couple days ago at a skatepark in Denver. A group of skaters (around 30 total) beat these two guys. One of them received broken vertebrae, broken arms, and brain swelling due to being hit with...
I took my bike on southwest airlines a few months ago. What I did was take a huge cardboard box, with relatively good dimensions in relation to my disassemble bike, and cut and reassembled the sides of the box to be within the airlines max total dimensions criteria (which was something like the...
The insurance check came a couple weeks ago for about 3/4 of what the stolen bike cost. MAKE SURE TO KEEP ALL OF YOUR RECEIPTS FOR BIKE PARTS!!!! THEY SAID WITHOUT RECEIPTS I WOULD HAVE PROBABLY ONLY RECEIVED A CHECK FOR ABOUT 1/8 OF WHAT THE BIKE COST. So i decided to just build a new custom...
I dont know if this is a repost, but anyway, this website allows you to color each individual part nearly any color you want on an actual bike. I find it is pretty helpful when building up a custom bike or swapping out parts on your existing bike. Check it out...
Ya, I might end up building up a custom, but it all depends on how much insurance is willing to give me. Maybe I will revive that coupon code thread that I started about a year or so ago.
Well, my bike was stolen about a month ago. Police report was filed, but I know the bike has already been sold or something horrible . But luckily, I'm pretty sure that insurance is willing to help out quite a bit in paying for a new bike. My question to you guys is-What is one of the...
you should check out my backyard setup for some ideas for your setup. Like others have said, your roll-in should be twice the size of the jump.

lachy_mtb Ya, it is good old New Mexico clay. Unfortunately :nopity:, i live 10 miles away from an extinct volcanoe which means that about every 5 feet, i hit a huge rock that weighs what im guessing is close to 250 or 300 pounds, seeing as i have broken 7 shovels from trying to lever them...
Basikbiker I made this a table for two reasons 1. you would be surprised how scary it is rolling down a 12 or 13 foot roll in straight into that big of a jump that is only about 20 feet away from the bottom of the roll in (at least for me, but i am a pansy) and 2. I wanted a jump i can start to...
ya, i will get action shots/videos up in a while. It wont be for a couple weeks as i am going backpacking in wyoming. And yes, i was a little skeptical at first as to how much i would be able to fit in there (the entire lot is 1/3 of an acre) but i was pleasantly surprised at how much fun that...
