I have a 30t n/w with xt clutch der on my Stumpy Evo. Going on 6 months now with no dropped chains. I also put a 36t n/w with xt clutch on my Demo. I run 7 cogs with a Sram X-9 shifter and Big-Ted adapter. However, I also use a Straitline chainguide and the set up has been flawless so far...
Lots of leaves!!! Otherwise the trails were in decent shape. We had to clear roots from a large tree down on snake back and some brush from the top of the windmill trail. We were the only riders up there this weekend but the weather was great and it was fun to get out on the dh bike. The leaves...
I can't make Fall Fest but the weather looks great for this weekend so it looks like 3 of us are going to make a last minute trip down tomorrow. We are planning on riding Sat and Sun.
I assume the course preview will be up soon, but if I had to wager I would bet upper hairball to lower pro dh.
*UPDATE: My sources are saying that elite and AM will do Upper to Lower Hairball. All others Upper Hairball to Lower Pro DH.
With respect to the tolerances at the pivots, headset, bb, dropouts, and seat post, removing the paint created no issues whatsoever. The bike is just as solid as before being stripped and polished.
The warranty issue was definately a concern but no longer an issue now. I guess if I break it...
My real motivation for polishing this frame was to create a look that was a throwback to the old school bmx bikes I used to ride as a kid. I have a chrome GT Pro frame that looks as good today as when I got it back in 1982. Obviously, aluminum is going to take some work to keep it from...
My wife might have one in the cupboard somewhere but I'm not a real big fan of stir fry. Plus, I'm only allowed in the kitchen to take pictures of my bike:)
Voiding the warranty was a consideration, but I've got a lot of life out of this frame and my desire to have a frame with this finish outweighed the risk that I might break it. However, given my lack of speed and limited ability just about the only way I'm going to break this bike is if it falls...
While clear coating will definately protect against oxidation, it is not without its drawbacks. I'm using a sealer made by Hoosier Metal Polish that is supposed to significantly reduce oxidation. There is no doubt that having a frame with a mirror polish is going to be a pain in the ass to...
Typical SS race weekend. Race on Sunday morning starting at 11. Giant slalom race is usually at 4pm on Sat. Practice for giant slalom from 2-4 pm on Sat. I'm going to Nationals and I won't be able to make it to SS for race 2.
Very fun little course. I was suprised how easy it is to push up to the top. The course is fairly tight and smooth so that alone makes a shorter travel bike a good choice, without even considering the doubles. The ds course is also pretty cool. I didn't get here till 3:00 but was able to ride...
What are the hours for the park for riding tomorrow? I won't be able to get there till about 2 pm. Also is the dual slalom track open for practice, too
Oh, thanks, I had not seen the flyer. I figured it would be but wanted to make sure. I would love to go down to Beech for the race on Saturday then ride Windrock on Sunday on the way home.
