This is what's wrong with The Industry™

Identifying your ideal market position is key, however so is how you define and communicate that position. This could have been done better. It was my first and only experience working for a bike manufacturer; frankly my fantasies on how bike companies were run were somewhat crushed by the...

This is what's wrong with The Industry™

When I started working there their north star was "to be the number one second tier bike company", which I thought was a weird outlook. That was back when Bob Buckley owned the company.

This is what's wrong with The Industry™

A 2000 Kona Stab Primo with a Monster T was the shop DH bike when I first got into downhill. I sent many staircases, drops to flat and sketchy Northstar lines on that thing.

Multiple reviews of the new Altitude stating the concentric pivot loosened up on them, requiring pulling the crank and using a proprietary tool to tighten back up - good luck with that mid ride. Rocky is recommending loctite.

MRP drop-in damper looks interesting - 5 tunes available stock and it sounds like it's easily revalved at home. I have no idea how well MRP stuff is sorted though; I haven't ridden anything by them since the White Brothers days...

I still love my ‘21 Altitude, although I could be tempted by one of the alloy frames. Maybe run the ‘21 as a lighter/steeper trail bike in the shorter travel settings then the new one as an enduro sled…

    Coil boinging on a budget

I had him tune one for a Glory; turned out solid. Nothing earth shattering, but it worked well.

    Coil boinging on a budget

Current Scout? If so the leverage ratio is 2.43; there's a good chance you'll want a lighter compression tune on a stock DHX/CR. A Super Deluxe might be a better bet as those come stock with light comp tunes.

    Coil boinging on a budget

Depends on the bike's leverage curve. ~2.7 w/ 20-25% progression and a 450lb spring? A stock CR/DHX will probably be fine. Get too far away from that and you'll need a custom tune. DHX2 can handle a bit more deviation before it needs a custom tune. The HBO on the Super Deluxe is great for...

    Push's $2,600 fork is absurd

@PUSHIND , since we have your attention - does Push provide tuning service for the SV Eight? Say for example the customer has a bike with a highly progressive leverage rate that would benefit a progressive rebound tune?

I don't remember who I bought that one from anymore. There is a seller on ebay - mtbtools - that makes custom sized ones which I've bought as well; although they aren't available in black and don't have the split to make install/removal faster. https://www.ebay.com/str/mtbtools
