Doh! Wish I'd have seen this in time. Two of my favorites. Been listening to Lyle for decades, and saw Jason Isbell two years ago at Popejoy Hall (Amanda Shires stayed home, sadly, so more guitar and less fiddle).
I did Copper Canyon many years ago with a small tour operator out of El Paso. I believe his name is Rey Molina. He knew where the singletrack was, and got us off the track of the bigger REI, Western Spirit, etc. tours. Would love to go back, and Sayulita is on my list once I've got more time...
There was more smoke in the CO San Juans this weekend even though you were closer to most of the fires. Climbed San Luis (14,014') and it was surrounded by a thin sea of brown haze. Beautiful pics, BTW! I haven't pulled my sure-to-be lousy ones off my phone yet.

Don't know if your kids are young enough to be wowed by dinosaur tracks, but if so, look for the tracks on the initial climb at Klondike Bluffs. At the end of the out&back trail, you can leave your bikes, hike up a bit further and enjoy a great view down into the Fiery Furnace area of Arches...
Due primarily to climatic reasons, my powder surfing days appear to be over, so I'm unloading my '08 Fish. Until I pulled the bindings on Sunday, I'd forgotten that it was signed by Jake Burton "for JG" (that'd be John Gerndt, Burton product rider/developer). Are there people who care about...
Well, maybe the quotes aren't out of line. I guess I was figuring prices would be less, given fuel costs nowadays. I suppose I need to narrow it down to a few and start googling for reviews so I don't get stuck with a bad apple. Other than Hemmings.com, is there a car junkie web forum where I...
Thx. That may be uShip? Quotes I got from there were in the same ballpark. I'm just puzzled, as the anecdotes I get from folks who've purchased a vehicle off of ebay (not the case here) have paid more on the order of $400 or $500 to get a vehicle delivered cross country. It only needs minor...
Car Monkeys, I'm buying a used truck from a dealership N. of Milwaukee and need to arrange transport to New Mexico. A google search and submitting online requests for quotes yields a bewildering number of very expensive, needy, and shady vendors wanting to charge in the neighborhood of $1k...
Thanks for the reply and the suggestions; that gives me a start on planning. Perhaps our appetites will be whetted for a return trip. Peeing on Bjork is probably gonna have to wait.
The GF and I are taking advantage of IcelandAir's no-additional-cost layover day on a Europe trip next month, and I'm looking for recommendations from Monkeys on a modest hotel and sightseeing options. Yeah, it's not much time, and I understand the airport is a bit of a drive outside of...
I've used proteinfactory.com's mega-whey for years now, and I know they carry a soy protein mix among their many offerings. You'll find they're less expensive than any of the name-brand stuff. Good luck.

bizutch, Likely you're thinking of Christina Hendricks, but that gif is of a Czech actress, the name of whom escapes me, but who has a willing volunteer should she need a manager.
Thanks for the pics & words. Looking forward to more. I've got a 1-day layover in Reykjavik this July, and am excited about the possibilities of how to spend the day with my wife and daughter. Your Northern Lights experience was amazing!
I've broken 2 Ventana frames that were out of warranty. My experience is that they'll help you out, but you're gonna pay for it, and they're not real fast.

Thanks for the perspective, BV. I'll take a look at the Chromebook - we already use a number of the Google software options - but I'm not sure our current desktop PC has the horsepower to be ripping DVDs. I'd be comfortable spending closer to $300 since it looks like that might get us...
Happy Thanksgiving weekend, Monkeys! Now that the pre-meal group ride and usual feast are out of the way, I need to do some shopping while things are cheap. The factory DVD player in our Mommyvan has died, and it strikes me that it's gonna be a whole lot cheaper to get a laptop to perform the...
I'll recommend a visit to Shidoni Foundry/Gallery, 10 min out of town on Bishop's Lodge Rd. Call ahead and visit when they're pouring/casting if you can. Yeah, the O'Keefe museum is supposed to be very nice, although I've not made it there yet. If you need more LA info, hit me up. There's a...
