I've been running one for a few months after my reverb went squishy and got stuck down in the cold winter months and it's been flawless.
The post locks in position regardless of height so you don't need to worry about picking the bike up by the saddle and there are alternatives to the remote...
Sorry just saw this post. I don't have the official shimano pads handy but do have the ones I got from uberbike which list road disc pads separately from the mountain pads.
The profile of both pads are identical but the road disc backer is about 20% thinner and the mountain pad itself has...
I've got a set of 2013 Idylle RaRe Airs and they're incredible. The small bump sensitivity is not as smooth as a Marz but the ones I've tried almost feel too soft. I'm running the LSC half in on the Idylles too and they're a lot more compliant and stiffer torsion ally than my old 2010 TF Tuned...
I forgot to add that I tried the -1deg cup on the 10" mode and it felt spot on but backed it off to the -0.5 on the 8" mode. The geo chart says 64degrees but when you add in -1deg in sag and a slightly taller fork, the dynamic geo is probably around 62.5 (not measured but feel plenty slack enough).
This is true but the syndicate guys have also been running custom headsets to extend the top tube even more. If I was buying again I'd be keen to try an XL with a 28mm stem which would practically make it the same reach as a Large with a 50mm stem but with a longer wheelbase. Given that I mostly...
I've got a V10.4 in large with a 50mm stem and I'm 6ft without shoes on with average length arms and find it a good fit. I wouldn't go any shorter.
I prefer the 8.5 mode too. The 10" mode is definitely more buttery over the chop but if you ride steeps and grab the rear brake, the rear sits up...
Ever the optimist!
You can bet that GT have since gone back to production and reinforced that headtube area. If that had happened to a consumer then they could wave the DH market goodbye. I reckon they've dodged a bullet there.
If they haven't then no matter - I'm not buying one! :D
Come on, I know you're a staunch supporter of Enve but if people want to buy cheap and get lower standard goods, then that's their prerogative! Besides competition is healthy ;)
Good to hear! They're in the process of designing some new 650b rims. They were planning to use the 33mm 26 design...
Digging up this thread as I'm looking for new trail bike rims... I had lots of luck with the last set of normal 30mm wide LB rims. How have your DH ones been?
Take a look at the sapim d-lights. Mtb specific and only a few grams heavier than cx-rays.
The sapim polyax nipples are supposed to be made out of a tougher AL than usual and are supposedly close to brass strength at half the weight.
I totally agree. I don't know if I've seen anyone break a crank arm in the last 5 years. A pedal breakage at the wrong time could be a disaster.
I had a pair of CB Acid 2s which I used on my hardtail for about a year - commuting 20 odd miles most days with the occasional XC ride. I used to...
Did you do the short term "negative air trick" on the damping leg when you did this? (Before you put the footnut on, compress the fork to get the air out of the lower legs).
Can't think of any other reason why you'd notice such a big difference unless something has gone wrong internally
You shouldn't be able to detect that much difference in 0.5 degrees... Theoretically you should use less air pressure to achieve the same sag as before and perhaps more compression damping for absorbing hits but at half a degree it should be very subtle.
Hmmm I tried to get 20% sag but even after pumping the air spring to over 220psi it still sagged to 25-30%. I took that to be a characteristic of the negative spring. The end result running it at that pressure was a fork that didn't get past 6inches of travel.
In its current setup, the fork...
