If those are the only 2 you are considering then definitely go with the P2. Trek and dirt jumping are not synonymous.
To be fair, neither is Specialized and dirt jumping but they have had the P bikes around for a decade now and people do get down on them.
Extend the arms and tuck the legs a little. Just don't do too much of either or your face will meet flat ground when your front tire reaches the landing.

Fort Collins is the worst city in the world and you'd have a terrible, terrible time if you moved here. Nothing good at all. You definitely want Boulder. It's a utopia compared to the wastelands of the Fort.
