    Semi slick with good knobs

The Slaughter Grid casing is the business in the rear. It's an interesting tire as others have outlined. I REALLY liked it for the first couple of months; in fact, one of my favorite rear tires ever for AZ conditions. After some miles, though, I didn't like it as much. I couldn't see any...

Enduro 29 vs 650b enduro rigs

I own an S-works E29 and a Process 134. I mostly built the Process to have a backup bike for the E29. The Enduro is the finest bike I've ever owned.

    recommendations on air compressors

With air compressors, more is always better. I bought a Craftsman 30-gallon probably 8 years ago. Still going strong, runs air tools, etc. Not cheap but a great investment if you have the room for it.

You've got $1500 to buy a DH bike. What do you get?

At your height I wouldn't buy a Morewood. Sizing is small. I'm 6'2 and both my previous Izimus were too small (size L). You could easily find a first-gen Glory in your price range and sizing is better.

    Intense M9, creaking?

Can't remember what year it changed, but start with the lower linkage. On my 2011, all the noise went away when I upgraded I the newest lower linkage with the conical bolts. I use anti-seize on the chps.

Any Turner Burner 27.5 Owners Out There?

Jeez, that Avy cartridge looks nice. I'm not at all please with the damping on the 34 Float on my Bronson.

    got the new pike...

FWIW, I weigh about 200 in gear and ride AZ rocks. I can't tell any difference in stiffness between 15 and 20 front axles.

    got the new pike...

Thinking about a Pike for my Bronson. The Float 34 has been as uninspiring as most Fox forks.

    M9 upper link bearings

Thanks. I assume I can just source these locally?

How to refinish Fox 40 lowers

To clarify, my intention here was to strip the stock gray finish and repaint. That said, I started the stripping process using the same chemical stripper I've used on multiple aluminum frames. Not sure what finish Fox is using on these lowers, but it's stout. It laughs at the stripper. Too late...

    Magura fork quality?

I will say, at least a couple years back, Magura USA's customer service was quite good. I actually had a tech on the phone with me the first time I took my Wotan apart.

    M9 upper link bearings

Thanks. Just punched them out. Indeed, each bearing reads "Enduro 6001LLUMAX". Of the two top bearing, one was crazy notchy and the other completely frozen. Once removed, both spin a bit but are still notchy (but not frozen).

    M9 upper link bearings

Anyone know the size of the upper link bearing in a 2011 M9? Got my new-to-me rig apart to upgrade to the new lower link and it appears this frame has never had any maintenance done. Two of the four upper link bearings are completely seized. If anyone happens to have a part number, I'd love...

    Magura fork quality?

I owned a Magura Wotan a few years back, which sounds like the model you're talking about (160/120 adjustable travel). Great-looking fork, stiff and the damping was terrible. I had it apart a bunch of times and could never get it to feel right.

How to refinish Fox 40 lowers

Probably should have mentioned initially, I have chemically stripped four or five aluminum frames with no issues. I just wanted to confirm it's OK to use on the magnesium without damaging the material. I don't mind spending a couple bucks on soda, but between the travel and turnaround time to...

How to refinish Fox 40 lowers

Google-fu weak. Any tips on stripping/refinishing Fox 40 lowers. I understand they're magnesium. Can I use a chemical stripper on these safely?
