any team rumours nonsense this year

I hear that every Intense bike now comes with an autographed shirtless Lopes calendar too. Quite a value if you ask me.

    Post your 2014 rides!

Finally added a DJ bike to the stable.

Anyone got an Emerald review yet?

Don't forget the pleasure caused by fork seal friction. A further 150% boner enhancement.

Nobody's going to comment on this, seriously?

Ugh. Intense seems like it has been languishing for a while but this won't help.

    Hassle free brakes?

I've had the best luck with Shimano. Saint 810's, Saint 820's, 765 XT's, all of them have been reliable.

    Gear review review...seriously?

Kitsbow and Acre (aka Mission Workshop) have targeted a style conscious demographic that probably also buys $200 denim without blinking an eye. I think they have seen success in the roadie market and are now trying to see if mountain bikers will buy. Personally I don't care how my riding gear...

Mini-DH fork - Pike vs. XFusion Sweep

I totally forgot about BOS since their availability in the US has been challenging. What is the price for a Deville now that there is a US distributor?

Mini-DH fork - Pike vs. XFusion Sweep

It seems that every mtb website and publication is very averse to making any concrete judgments on a fork shootout. I'm guessing their worried about being blacklisted by manufacturers. I'm in the same boat as I look for a replacement for my Fox Float 34. A fork with real low/high speed...

    Narrow/wide rings

I've been running a Wolftooth 30T ring with a Zee rear derailleur with no dropped chain issues in 3 months. I'm pretty sold on this setup.

    Under shirt with backplate only?

I'll second the plc vpd 2.0 line of protectors. I've been using them for about 6 months any they've been awesome. The protection for a soft type of pad is excellent and they aren't hot, warm yes, but not hot.

    2014 Downhill Forks?

I'm excited to see what 2014 holds as well. It seems like for the longest time Rock Shox and Fox have been entirely dominant on the market. If you want something now and not the two incumbents, my vote is for the Dorado. Plush, lightweight, and quite precise. I wrote it off at first too due...

    New Manitou 160mm Fork

I don't think it has been so much an issue of can it be done, so much as, the choice of dumbing down the tuning options for the majority of riders so they can't screw things up. That assumes that your customers can't tune their own fork or shock which isn't true in the upper performance segment...

    Lopes - kind of awesome

You have to hand it to Lopes, he could have hung up his jersey a long time ago like a lof of the other pros of his era but he is still willing to pin it like the old days.

Crankset - Zee, Saint, Truvativ Descendants

My last two bikes have had Saint cranks and I have no complaints. I waited until they were cheap on Chain Reaction Cycles to get them.

Hmm, not exactly Skunkworks level stuff here.

Exclusive: Up Close... With Specialized's Beadless Clincher

Well damn! Rims on moto's and wheels on cars have been this way for decades and we just learn bikes don't need bead hooks?

Anyone have much time on Spank Spike Evo 35AL or Race 28 Evo rims?

I'm really interested in the Spike EVO 35 as well. The only other DH worthy rim with a 29mm inner width is the Mavic 729 but its heavier (599g vs 675g).

    Fox Rampage Carbon reviews? Verdict?

I really like my Fox Rampage Carbon. I tried on the D3, Bell Drop 9, and the Fox and they are all good looking and well built. At the ~$400 price point, they all better be nice. What it came down to trying them all on in multiple sizes to see which one felt the most comfortable and secure. I...
