Avid code R, elixir R lever throw question...

My experience with Code 5's and Codes: Follow the avid bleed procedure to the letter. Particularly take your time getting all the air out of the fluid ( takes a while but worth the effort ). I bleed the brakes on the bike in place. When you have finished your contact point will be very...

My Sunday I Horse Thread .

I have got that exact same Sunday - an 08 Elite. A wee tip on the Totems - pull the compression damper out and remove the "floodgate" valve, it opens up the low speed compression circuit and helps with small bump compliance. Hope it works out for you :thumb:

    Try a Sunday?

Why not. They have great geo and most people would not be able to out ride one. I own one and to be honest an upgrade to the new Pivot seems like a nice idea but lots of $$$$ for not much gain. It's so easy to get caught in the "must have the latest and greatest " trap. DO IT :thumb:

What foot you have on front while riding?

My left foot is my "chocolate" foot. Always left foot on the BMX gate but can easily switch ( and do ) when taking on switchbacks :)

    "slime" over "stan's"

I mentioned it on the other thread- gring / buff off the moulding "ribs" off of the bead. They seal way better and you don't need much Stans as a result. HTH

Non UST tyres tubless on an 823

I run non ust dhf's on DeeMax's ( same as 823's ). I found that by grinding the little moulding marks off the bead helps them hold air / seat way better. You'll see the little raised ribs if you have a look, just buff them off. Throw some Stans in there as well. HTH :)

New Honda RN01 at Keystone bike park?

Interesting ....... It's pretty obvious people on here know sweet fack all about Hondas history in various sports over the decades, particularly in moto. I look forward to see how this one pans out - a flash in the pan or the real deal, only Honda knows the answer to that one. Cool...

    I fail.

I was under the understanding that the Codes started giving problems once they went to Magnesium? Anyway, my Gen 1 Codes and '08 Code 5's work just fine and have given me no problems. I have kept some Ultimate levers ( well complete sets actually ) just in case, so far so good :)

Wow, rode my first DH bike today!

This guy is totally on to it. Personnally I have a FR bike that is my do it all bike. I brought it when I didn't know heaps about big travel MTB's. I was really lucky that the shop pointed me in the right direction. It is an '08 IH 7pt with upgrades and I love it :) . The main mods are a lighter...
