    Lever Position?

Exactly! I'm not sure of the angle, but I too run them so that a single finger emergency stop doesn't crush my knuckles. But I've got freakishly long fingers that can reach just about any lever in any position.

    pressing headset cups with grease

Grease isn't just for moving parts. Anyone ever compare the resonant frequencies of a bolted connected when greased and ungreased? It's higher (more rigid) when greased. In short, grease makes an appreciable difference for static interfaces too.

    Tubeless Tires

Carry a tube and some large zip ties. Install tube, tightly wrap zip ties around tire and rim in area of tear, and ride home *carefully*. The zip ties will support the tire in the area of the split so the tube won't bulge through the tire. Not exactly a recommended way to ride, but it will...

    Ti spring go snapp!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peening puts the surfaces into compression and reduces or eliminates the alternating stresses that accelerate fatigue failure around stress concentrations such as scratches. Slater's right - non-ferrous materials will not last forever under cyclic loading. However, for those who have had...

    The perfect downhill wheelset?

I'll add another vote for the Hope's. Among other Hope gear, I've been riding a Hope hub for 8 seasons with no problems. My Hope components have been among the most reliable that I've ridden.
