i had mine at the low setting when i first got it. it was alrite my bb was at about 13.25 which i admit was a little low for my liking. It also felt kinda steep. I raised them up and it all of sudden rode much better. And my bb is now at 13.5 which is still pretty friggin low..
I had the same problem with the Framewrap, so I got the 3M stuff at home depot. Its the exact same concept as the Framewrap but its about twice as thick so it lasts a lot longer. I think it was even the same price.
I think your best bet would be to try and find a decent, affordable complete DH rig. Then upgrade as you break/wear out the existing parts.
Building bikes from the frame up gets expensive quick.
