New V10c XL Frames at Huge Discount

Whatever, I'm sure LBSs signed agreements w/ SC and I'd bet this sale is not a violation of the terms.

that feeling once you realize your bike is too small

At 6' tall I strongly prefer large frames.

    Kona Wah Wah Pedals

The price ($80) is under the pic in the review ;) You can get Spanks for 10% off at Ubikes with a discount code, Wah Wahs are hard to find outside of dealers and are price controlled. If you can get oem takeoffs that's cool but not a regular deal.

    Kona Wah Wah Pedals

I managed to plow my Wah Wahs into rocks a few times in the 3 seasons or so I ran them ( I had 2 pairs, one for each bike), not their fault at all, but now 3 out of 4 pedals have bent spindles... and having the bike come to a complete stop in just a few inches isn't fun. The Spank Spikes are...

    Kona Wah Wah Pedals

The Wah Wahs are nice but the blocky outside edges can catch on rocks... I switched to Spank Spikes and prefer them over my old Wah Wahs.

DT Swiss, 36 step star ratchet upgrade.

I have the 36t plates in my 440 on my trailbike for a couple seasons, works great...

2013 Lyrik DH Solo Air R2C2

I replaced my '09 36 Float with a '12 Lyric 170 Solo Air and it is a better fork. The new RS dampers feel really nice.

Please don't hate me because I'm beautiful, but....

Whatever you can get with a Fox 40... :p

same rider on a difrent bike? faster?

I totally agree. I have a Session 88 and just rode a friend's v10c... both with fox 40s. They feel different but the bike really has nothing to do with who gets down the mountain faster assuming both are in good working order.

How good really is the Straitline Silent guide ?

lol, leave it to a LBS. Not enough spacers between ISCG tabs and guide... they obviously didn't even look at the instructions. This is on a friend's bike BTW. On my bike, I wish I knew how my chain dropped. I had to remove the lower guide to get the chain back, it seemed like there wasn't...

That maxxis tire they just came out with that no one seems to give a shlt about

I wouldn't use the SX casing, it's 50 duro all the way through while the DH casing has a 70a baselayer that supports the knobs a lot better. It rolls faster, lasts longer and grips better because the knobs don't deform as easily. The DH casing Butcher is one of the best tires I've ever used...

How good really is the Straitline Silent guide ?

The larger slider bolts are a standard size, I just got replacements at a local hardware store. They are steel instead of aluminum though, an extra 10 grams, lol. My replacement sliders came with the small bolts. I need to email straitline and see if this thing works with a 10 spd chain, I've...

    RS Vivid Reliability

My R2C has been great on my 6" bike, but a friend got one and it blew a seal on the 1st ride. I like the shock and the price is reasonable... might get one for the DH bike too.

Bad Sprains, How Long Until The Joint Returns To Normal?

Keep on wearing a brace for a long while after you think it's ok... it takes a long time for the joint to really be stable again....

    DW vs. Trek

There's prior art, I think it's f'in ridiculous on dw's part to "claim" an existing design as his own and invent reasons why it should be patented. IMO, neither Trek nor DW should have been awarded a patent in the first place. I do think Trek's implementation of a single pivot is the best.

    Sram XX1

I'm not assuming it's the guide... while i have heard of this happening to a couple other people from searching the net for reviews, it's not normal and could be related to an error in setup or other factors I haven't thought of. It could be the 10 speed chain is narrower than the 9 speed that I...

    Sram XX1

Yeah... there aren't any setup options beyond ft-back spacing. Chain is good... this only happens about twice a year, so it is rare, but the times it happens, it really, really sucks.

    Sram XX1

I doubt it... it's a 32t guide, there are no adjustments and the front-back spacing is good. It might be the 10 speed chain, IDK. And I'm not the only one with this issue on silent guides.

    Sram XX1

Doubles and triples with fd don't even come close to retaining the chain properly and all single chainguides seem to pretty much suck for one reason or another. They work to keep the chain in place (most of the time), but have other problems like durability.

    Sram XX1

I'm seeing a lot of comments about dh bikes, I don't think that's what XX1 is intended for... it's for xc/am bikes. I wouldn't consider putting it on a dh bike, I run road gears on the dh bike... edit: not to mention the crankset probably won't come in 83mm...
