would it be possible to use one of these devices and space it out far enough to align with the outer ring position? i have a frame that i want to use a bigger chainring on, but it wont run a 42 tooth in the middle chainring position?
many thanks!
the reasoning is because the chainstays are going to be REALLY short and its a 29er...like sub 16.5...so, i basically get more ring clearance if i go for the ring in an outer position (ill be using a 35 or 36 tooth ring and a 9 or 10 speed cassette. to do this, a 150 rear hub gives a good...
custom vertigo cycles ti. current one has 83mm bb shell and the lg1+ works well. i have the ring spaced *inwards* from the crank arm tabs by 2.5mm and a 9 speed block.
Think its still the xcx one in this pic...
Previously, it had a pretty unique DT 150/singlsespeed freewheel hub and a 1x6...
ive been looking around to see if anyone is running a similar set up and struggling, so thought id just ask the question.
frame is 73mm bb shell.
150mm rear end.
the idea is to run 1x9 or 1x10. it will be a hardtail, but with offset seat tube, so an iscg 05 mount would be preferable. cranks...
that sounds like its going to hit the sweet spot.
i was thinking of fat front wheels the other day and how that new edge composites DH 38mm wide 26" rim the santa cruz boys are going to be using might work out....
expensive no doubt!
as you might imagine, looking forward to seeing more on this!...
how are you combining running a rigid fork and the 140mm reba? are you letting the angles steepen with the rigid or is there some trick to lengthen the rigid fork? (a PVD esque steerer tube extender/crown race seat?)
it must be...
actual c-c on seat tube will be in range of 14". head angle with 30% sag on the 120mm will be right about 69.7 ... seat about the same....
im 5'11" but have always run a compact bike. this way, i bury the seat and hit the rough stuff and it should fly. well as much as my skill allows anyway!
these are the stays, a 150mm hub to an 83mm bb shell....sub 17" length with 29" wheels. plug in 120mm travel up front....and i reckon i have a ripper coming....
can i clarify: you went with a 69 deghree head and a 38mm offset reba? and the head angle is non compressed? and liking the ride? any thoughts on slacker angle and more offset?
(im working on somehting similar but with the bigger offset...)
arent the 355's limited to 80kgf? see stans website.
i built some cross wheels with 355's and dt 240 hubs, to 85kgf with a +/- <8 and have been enjoying them *for cross*.
that was with revos and alloy nips. its a lot lower tension than you'd guess by pinging spokes. you probably need to use a...
