I only guessing but could be Ohlins are entering MTB because it's relatively easy to repurpose their existing product line and it's possibly a feeder sport to MX where there's more money to be had from customers.
Regardless I'm glad to see them in the sport, anyone who advances the tech is...
love Hart, unpredictable though. Either wins by a mile or crashes big time. Kinda reminds me of watching Sam Hill years ago. Danny seemed to calm down towards end of last season so perhaps he will start to podium more regularly this year/next.
I just dont think he has the fitness to be top 10 regularly and the only way he'll get that is with physical training. Look at the physical gains made by the likes of Hart, Brosnan....even chubby Hill of a few years back went and got fit.
IMHO, I don't think Scott can afford to have a regular...
I think it is - its definitely a quick bike and in the right hands would be a potent weapon on an enduro race like the megavalanche Im sure. Its definitely possible to carry so much speed into the usual rock/root stuff to cause some arse clenching moments - it just doesn't have the travel to...
not sure on exact weight - Ill chuck it on my park scale this weekend.
The fork was modified to reduce in travel to 130mm, it was a bit of a one way operation as it required some chopping and faffing with internal volumes and oil levels to get it dialled right. I think if I was doing it again...
It was specifically built to be a fast playful bike, I wanted it low & slack. I got sick of 180mm+ of suspension taking the fun out of my local trails. This is the bike in a more mini-DH state, Ive run it with larger cassette and a dropper post for more enduro riding. It's immense fun, pops and...
yes, with 130mm forks, would be around 12" with 100mm forks. I run an offset bush to slacken it out too so sits at 65deg. With a dropper post and xx1 rear cassette its a fun enduro bike. Low bottom brackets & short stays are the way to make a bike IMHO.
lots :)
its also apparently too slack / too short / too low / too limited suspension....which may all be true but its fun and fast so what do I care what dipshlts think.
Nice SXT for sale BTW - GLWTS. I was considering letting mine go too....
looking at the track walk I wish there wasn't the line down the outside of the whoops...that could be a really interesting place to see different riders approach to carrying speed through that section. I suspect they might need to tame the entrance speeds a bit as it looks crazy fast at that...
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who understands how the CCDB rebound circuit works, i.e how does the spring (which to my mind is the only force returning the wheel back to its steady state position) affect whether the low or high speed rebound circuit is used? Surely the spring is only...
Spec have been issuing takedown requests to a lot of sites with that pic hosted (bike rumour etc) indicating it's not last years bike. It's got some small engineering changes too from what I can work out...
I suspect thats an boutique job on an off the shelf ttx25 unit as I haven't seen them mentioned anywhere else and certainly being Italian does raise an eyebrow....
The ttx25 as I understand it has multiple uses including carts but the Specialized Ohlins collaboration is the only version I know...
