This stolen from a post on Vital..not sure if it's true, but lets keep fingers crossed.
"I emailed Red Bull yesterday and asked if the DH race would be on Red Bull TV in the US and here is the response I got:

Are you aware of the DH Finals this Sunday at...
Yep, and it's right under the lift. I remember wanting to ride it but not wanting to fvck it up in front of an audience. Those 2 or 3 front side trails were pretty gnarly off of the top. A friend rode all of about 100yds on the first day before ending up in the hospital with...
I rode the lift this past weekend and when asked how old I was, I responded 48.
The guy then says, "Damn, I hope I can still ride like that at your age"
WTF, a compliment and reality bitch slap all in one..
You realize that Greg Minaar is on that list every year for the last 20 years?! And, actually I bet the top 5 guys that were not 1 hit wonders are all doing OK. Tomac, Vouilloz, Minnaar, Barel, Palmer, Peat, Gracia, Hill, Atherton, Etc..Maybe not rich like the big 4 sports, but comfortable...
Really? You don't think that a bike sponsor would be mad that their rider is basically saying 'if I wasn't getting paid to ride this bike, I'd ride that bike' which you could certainly read as, 'If I had to buy a new bike I would buy ...'
They should have created a focus group.
Q: Would you buy a fork, even if it was significantly better than what's currently available, at a cost of $2700?
A: No...I think I'll buy a brand new YT Tues AL for $2699..... or Capra AL for $2499 instead.
Please let this be true! It makes sense to have some basic regulations on bikes.. I think every other racing sport does (?) I have yet to see anything that suggests that there is a significant advantage to running 29 vs. 27.5. It just forces people to spend money...or at least strongly...
So I admittedly am not sure what I'm looking at. Were the Fox 40's on the 29ers stickered as "49"(?) If so, is Gwin actually riding the 29er at Worlds, because the photo shows it with a "40" on the front. I'm in denial regarding 29ers so I'm not up on what the components look like. Also...
Fair enough, you're right..I just listened to the Vital interview and he certainly was pretty humble and appreciative of the people around him.
The race still was a bit anticlimactic though!
This was the most disappointing race of the season. Maybe it was the length of the course, maybe it was the sections that were filmed, maybe it was the terrain(?) It was also odd to watch all of the top riders lose time in that one section and not seeing a change in the hot seat for the...
Not saying that, but at least there is DH content. I've been on RM since 2003 and the DH side of things has faded. Years ago, World Cup threads wound go on for 7-10 pages. There were tons of members that actually rode DH on a regular basis. I met and rode with a lot of past RM members. Post...
You need to go to Pink bike or Vital MTB these days for DH content. You come here for bitching about everything under the sun that may or may not include biking. I think RM has aged out...and I'm old!
