    RIP twitter thread

He’s not trying to ‘reduce bots’, he’s taking his cut of botnet deployment costs since his platform is such a destination for every type of bad actor. How socially responsible.

Shit that happens with Airlines, thread

I feel like there is a learning opportunity here. @Pesqueeb tell us about various adhesive backed thin film products that we may access as consumers that might be generally useful to us all as engineers and mountain bikers. I already use so-called 3M ‘helicopter tape’ a fair bit, it is very...

The problem isn’t the excellent and useful engineering and mechanical properties of many plastics, (well it is but) it’s years of conditioning to the throwaway society, our failure to legislate for genuinely closed system manufacturing and recycling systems.

For people like @Sandwich I bought some AliExpress 4 pots for another project but decided to switch the Shimano Deore dual pots that came with it since I had everything apart. Have now done a few Km up and down the local streets. So far they are really good. Better than the Code RS that...

Finally got an eCommuter for the wife. The new Kona eCoco DL. Spent the last couple of days stripping and rebuilding it because of course it comes with every bolt dry. It’s very smooth, and has a lovely paint job.

Wow, that’s interesting, and annoying. That’s actually a massive inhibition for your country’s transition to a green economy I guess. I didn’t know you had single phase only as default.

Castles in the Mud, GFF's "Intelligent Domicile" build thread

Quite a lot of people over here are building totally off grid homes, and it doesn’t seem that wild. I guess everything is 220/240 by default for us so a bit different perhaps. We recently visited a friend who has built a place with 100% electric off grid, it was cool. He had an induction hob...
