My son is excited to get back into bmx. We will hit up Noonday when it reopens. I took them both to Blankets last weekend and now they want to be mountain bikers! They know about the jumps at Big Creek so I will probably take them there soon, too. Seems like this will be a great place for...
SXT is way too expensive for me, neon. $3,700 for the "cheap" one? I'm talking about bikes that sell for $1,500 less, except the BR I just threw in.
Thanks for the pic, tom! I would definitely either need to cut that...
I would test 'em if I could. I walk into a shop and ask about mountain bikes here and people look at me like I just asked for parachute pants. They barely keep enty level hardtails in stock...
Thanks for the input guys.
I am looking for a bike to replace my last couple bikes, both old-style Bullits. I used them for everything from trail to dirt jumping and the replacement needs to be able to do the same. I don't need a lot of travel or weight, just durability and a little suspension. I have narrowed it down...
WHat's up superfly? I was thinking about starting back up on riding mtb so I was thinking of all you guys. How are you and the fam doing these days? Riding? More than Rob, I bet... :)

15% discount just for registering as a member at ktmtalk.com, too. Did I mention I LOVE my Husaberg?
Husaberg parts are as easy to come by as KTM parts. In fact, in order to keep from confusing us, they come in KTM boxes
The Husky 610 is not really comparable to any Husaberg or KTM SMR. The KTM 625SMC is similar, and I like the KTM alot more.
Anyway...it's probably too late but...
I am not going to debate anything scientific-like about metalurgy, coil bind, or anything else, but I CAN tell you how it actually worked out (no hypotheses being postulated here :) ); it reduced the travel to 155mm, did not bottom out harshly, nor did it top out harshly. I weigh about 215lbs...
I just messed with the adjusters to see what I liked. I think I started with comp in the the middle and left it. Rebound is touchy. Where it "angages", if you turn the adjuster in about one turn it seemed to go from very soft to very stiff, so you will have to make fine adjustments somewhere...
The way that Marz told me to do it on my 02, which I did and was very happy with, is to buy a second set of top-out springs and run them in tandem with the stock ones. This lowered the front by about an inch, which seems to be what you are going for. This means that the 30mm top out springs...
For my money, the decision between pump track and trails is simply how much space you have and the layout of the land. DJ's are not as much fun if there is not enough room for at least a nice four pack that doesn't take a full-National gate-start every time you hit them. The added benefit of...
