Just put in an order for an size 3 Smash today. Couple notes for the collective brain trust I learned along the way:
The 30mm bearing eyelet shocks have clearance issues and will not work. I had a 230x60mm RSSD kicking around from a V4 Nomad. I asked about comparability and it was reported...
I can rip my Nomad everywhere. From long climbs, to shuttle runs to jumps and ladder drops, it rocks. Heck, right now I use it as a pedal machine on 20 mile flat loops because the Florida mountain bike scene is about as exciting as going to the dentist.
As for sizing, I've got a medium...
Bend, Oregon and Smith Rock. Also, Bishop is a great place to hang out for a bit that time of year. If you're into the whole grand adventure thing, hike from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney.
I bent the steerer tube on a 170mm 66RC2X casing a jump a couple years back. Destroyed the headset in the process, too.
I really like/prefer my 1.5" Lyrik now, and would get a Fox 36 if I could find a straight 1.5 steerer with that magical Kashima coating.
Nah, I was taking part in a 7 year old tradition here at Ridemonkey that even the mods love to do: Ripping on TheMontashu.
And in terms of grammar, I just hate it when people confuse "you're" and "your." But I usually just drink a beer and get over it.
