If were talking HT's here it's not a huge deal, unless your trying to squeeze grams out of a frame. But for FS designs you better damn well run your designs through some CAD or your going to have to do one of a few things:
Overbuild everything, use customers as test subject's,
or spend years...
I broke one SLR last season, but I am only 170lbs so maybe that helps.
I will agree with you on the Flights though! :thumb:
Before I found the SLR it was the only thing I would ride.
A simple search around the net and I couldn't find any photo's. There's got to be some around, maybe on chopper forums? It was called the Statue of Liberty Chopper (cause they used actual copper from repairing the statue).
I love my SLR, all 120g of it.
I've crashed the sh*t out of it at Idaho and Durango and its still running fine. I have the Ti railed model and I'm not sure how the others would hold up. Big seats just seem to get in the way.
I'm kind of curious as BV's question of sag got me thinking...
I assume alot of single pivot traits can be reduced or eliminated with just the use of a SPV shock. But what does the linkage do already?
How progressive is the linkage, and is it at all tunable?
I actually was thinking the same thing, honestly I think his work is more impressive than the bolt together bike they sometimes make. They really don't give him enough credit.
Ya know, after watching a episode of American Chopper (discovery channel) lastnight I have the incredible urge to copper plate a bike. That chopper they built looked crazy. I wonder what that stuff does to the strength of steel or alum.?
I never realized how much looks are becoming an issue, you guys sound like a bunch of whiny bitches on Melrose Ave. :p LOL
I'm with JR, It can't be much different that this other very popular and successful bike... cept maybe a better CG.
Have you ever tried to race a 9"+ travel frame? Ya really don't need all that travel most of the time. I've been seriously thinking about even getting a IH 7point to race on for courses like Big Bear and general trail riding.
The new bigger/longer shocks enable companies to get more travel...
I had a really good long explanation on how they differ, but ya know what? Screw that, I'm going riding. It's 70 and sunny and I need some real exercise. :p
Ya forgot about the Hanebrink! Ohh, how that b*tch got around! :D
Happy Birthday man, I hear Irish Car Bombs are a great way to start the day after your birthday!
No, Devinci only makes the Imperials.
The DOC is actually welded oversea's, that's how they are able to keep the price down and still use custom tubing. The manufacture usually specializes in high end road bikes and other custom work I believe. Honestly is some of the nicest work I've ever...
The DRS will help but there is still a slight possibility of your chain moving between the two rings in really rough conditions, but it does do a great job of of keeping the der. from slapping the chain around. But chain derailment on the SRS or STS is impossible without some other sort of...
<hand to forehead smack> Crap!
guess I should read the threads closer, hey at least i'm trying i guess
