To start(and not to discredit any previous opinions):
I'm a personal trainer at the Gold's Gym in Santa Cruz and I spend a lot of time around the nutrition of mountain biking. I have f***ed around with alot of supplements myself acting something of a Guinea pig and this is what i have found to...
the smallest i would go is 34, i think you would spin out on a 32. 36 would probably work too but with a 12-26 it may be a bit much. roadie cassettes change the game up quite a bit.
So i've had my SXT II for about 2 weeks and 6 rides, and the springs in the fork are insanely soft. i weigh about 190. i'm wondering what you guys have done, i'm not sure if i should get the medium or heavy spring. i tried to contact fox about it but no luck so far...
I just ordered my sxt II. You already get a sick build right outta the box. why not do that and save some money? the only thing i'm going to change is a king HS, lock ons, and tires.
i disagree. i think the fork on the p.3 feels terrible. not a good choice for the bike on the part of specialized. everyone i know has already swapped it out for something else. besides that, the bike is spec'd pretty well.
I am planning on getting the 06 sx trail. It is replacing a demo9, so it will be used for dh/fr. Do you guys think it's too heavy for a 6.6" bike? The reason i ask is because i'm also considering the Enduro Expert. It's 6" and 7 lbs less than the sx but i don't know that it would stand up to my...
i'm definitely with the hulk on this one. if you wanna bomb dh, get a dh bike. a double crown will screw up the geo and the way the stress is put on the headtube.
as far as weight is concerned.. the even the sunday wc isn't incrediby light. it still weighs in at like 45.5 lbs, only half a pound lighter than a stock demo 9, and they suspension design on that (IMO) is much better than that of the sunday. i'm with hulk. i'm not incredibly impressed with the...
if the bike is for racing, stay away from a bighit, or at least the older ones (being anything but 06) because of the 24" rear wheel. it'll accelerate like a fiend but your top speed will be much lower. i'd go with the VP myself.
I would tend to agree with most everyone who has posted already. Go for something with shorter travel, 4"-6", it will make u a much better rider in the end. And unless u live right next door to REAL DH, or a ski resort, u'll be wasting your money and the bike'll be too big anyway. Even a Turner...
I'd say the best place to pick up an IH is at Supergo. I've worked at a LBS for a while, and just moved to Supergo. I've pedaled it around a bit, and for under a grand, it's a sick deal, i would recomend it.
