Ive never owned a jump bike before, But have always wanted to.
I want a bike for general getting around on aswell as using it on dirt, But I just dont know where to start when it comes to buying a bike, especially with only £350.

Can someone please suggest some bikes to me?

Im not sure what else to say. I just want the best quality I can get for my money.

Also, What should I NOT get? What should i be wary of when buying a bike.

I dont mind getting second hand either, And im from the UK, If anyone finds anything, Ive been looking for hours, But not really come up with alot, and if I have found something that looks okay, Ive not been able to find much info on it.

Thanks. :]

That's a tough budget. Finding a clean second hand bike is best.

Chain reaction cycles does have the Kona Shred for 375 right now, if you must have new.

I couldnt find it. All i could find was a 2010 shred for £429.99.
Could you link me to the one you found please? I looked everywhere.

If you're willing to stretch to £400, the Specialisedp24 is a cracking buy for the money. It's a 24" BMX meets MTB type bike though
Why 26"?
Plenty of bikes on pinkbike to buy though make sure you do face to face on any deal.
You could also try www.bikeradar.com

I really just prefer the look of a 26", I feel safer on one too. haha.

Thanks for the link.

@ everyone:

Those bikes i listed up top, Are they all a bit crap? Or are any of them good enough to start on and can be easily upgraded later on?

the shogun is atleast cromo, but i didn't look up the specs, the others are junk for sure, well the GT might not be too bad, but i'd definately look for used! i actually built up a frame for about that much using used parts, but i had cranks and wheels laying around

Yeah, The shogun was one that stood out most to me anyway. For the price, I think its probably a good starting point, Because I plan on customising it ASAP and upgrading it when i can.

Itll leave me £50 for a new seat or something that says its mine. haha. Also, a helmet, A skid lid, A splat hat.

OH, What is a single speed like for general riding? I know its a different ratio to a trials bike, But my trials bike was awful to ride anywhere but up walls.

Whats the best speed i could do on a straight road? (using it to ride to work aswell).
