Hi

I am in the process of making my Kona Howler lighter and more uphill friendly

I have added a foxrps3 rear shock changed the front fork out for a Marzo 4X
And added Aerozine Sl red/black triple crankset...
I am waiting to collect bike at LBS..(Local Bike Shop)
I have read and been told I cannot do the front derailer thing on my Howler
as the chainstays will bash the Derailer -

Has anyone else done a sim conversion -
Any advice ?:thumb:

Its a 4X bike, not really meant to be an XC bike.
I think your best bet would just to go with either a single 32T or 34T ring up front, that should be low enough you can pedal it around most anywhere.

Is the seat tube on those bikes really short as well? I think you'd have trouble getting full extension.
