Specialized just held a press release of all their 2012 gravity products, including the Demo, the all-new Status and the carbon Dissident helmet. Read on for the full details on all the products.

The Demo 8
The 2012 Demo 2 will now come stock with a Cane Creek double barrel and feature World Champion graphics.
Key Features on the 2012 Demo include an upgrade to the Cane Creek Double Barrel coil shock, RockShox Boxxer World Cup, 780 mm Renthal Fat Bar, Custom Avid Code X0 brakes, SRAM X0 DH short cage derailleur and 10-speed 11-26t cassette, SRAM X0 DH crankset with carbon arms, 36T chainring and Gamut bashguard, new Roval DH rims are 30mm wide, laced with DT Swiss spokes to Specialized hubs, and finally to keep the rubber side down Specialized Butcher DH 26 x 2.3” soft dual compound front and rear tires.
If you’re lucky, you might be able to get your hands on a custom Troy Lee Designs Demo 8. There will be a limited run of about 200 of these special rides.
Troy Brosnan’s new TLD kit has matching colours, and this kit will available next year.
The Status
This is Brad Benedict’s custom Status, with a totally different parts kit from the stock version. It is interesting to note that he will be riding this bike, not a Demo, during his races at Crankworx.
The Status II’s parts will include a coil-sprung Fox Van RC rear shock, RockShox Domain Dual Crown 200mm-travel coil-sprung fork, Specialized four-bolt, direct mount, 40mm long stem, 750mm-wide Specialized DH low-rise handlebar, Avid Elixir 5 brakes, FSA Moto-X crankset, Specialized Butcher DH 26 x 2.3” soft dual compound front and rear tires.
The Enduro
The 2012 Enduro remains largely unchanged from last year, but gets an eye catching new paint job.
Pictured is the Enduro EVO, an alloy version of the bike with a more robust spec than its Carbon counterpart.
The top of the line Enduro Expert Carbon is a full-carbon, FSR frame with ISCG mounts. It will also have a Custom Fox RP23 Adaptive Logic shock and a Fox 36 TALAS R air-sprung fork, 720mm-wide Specialized All-Mountain low-rise handlebar, Avid X0 World Cup hydraulic disc brakes, custom SRAM carbon S-2200 10-speed all-mountain double crankset with GXP spindle, Gamut shift guide, Roval Traverse all-mountain wheelset, and the all new Specialized Command Post BlackLite.
The Dissident Helmet
They’re black, they’re carbon, and they’re what the Monster Energy/Specialized team have been running.
It’s also lighter than a TLD D3!
Specialized has integrated a bevy of features into the Dissident, most notably the carbon construction to create a lightweight and stiff design, but also the new Eject Airbag system. It essentially has an inflatable airbag in the top of the helmet, so in the event of a crash the helmet may be removed without risk of a spinal injury. The cheek pads eject, and the airbag may be blown up so as to allow easy removal.
