My 40 from last year won't work on my new frame since the steerer is at least 1" short. Will Fox put a new steerer in and if so, how much?

Edit - Fox won't install a new steerer tube, only sell a new CSU for $250. That's $100 more than what Risse wants for a CSU. Risse it is!

Probably cheaper to look for a lower crown on PB/ebay etc I imagine.

Edit: I take that back with them being listed for $400...

This could be the time to replace the stock 51mm offset crowns with 44mm if you have a 29" Fox 40. I love mine, but seem to be the only non-factory guy running them. After 29" enduro forks switched from 51 to 44 I'm kinda surprised there hasn't been more talk about different offsets on DH forks.

At 5'-8" I'm avoiding 29ers as long as I can. So far, so good!

How long a steerer do you need? I've got a spare set of 40 crowns I'd let go pretty cheap.
