Hey guys have a question.

I want to try the 42t conversion for my bike. Right I am running an 11-36 by 32. Have you guys. Had much luck with it? Would you change the front ring to 30t or leave the 32?

I have a 2013 Transition Bandit with a sram 1050 cassette I recently added a 42t Guerilla Gravity BFC to it. Was a 12-36, took out the 17t and I love it. Super granny for the win. Have a 34t RaceFace NW upfront, I have thought about going back to a 36, or maybe down to a 32, but in the end it has been so much fun to ride I haven't felt a need to experiment. Full disclosure my other bike is a singlespeed.

Bottom line, why not have more variety in your gearing choices?

I have put a 39T Action Tec Ti cog to work this year with a bigger than average CR and - it's more than enough. I'd not want a 42T cog on there, but results may vary.

Looking at a Gear Inch Chart, I have gained nearly the middle ground between a 2X setup and adding to my 1X setup as I have.

But staying in the one CR has many many many advantages which all add up to better feel at the crankset.
