Confirming the worst fears of the war’s conservative supporters, who argue that more troops are needed to defeat the insurgency, senior military officials made clear yesterday that the Bush Administration’s goal is to cut troop levels from 160,000 to below 100,000 by the end of 2006.

Seriously, I think either get out, or commit properly and stay the course, but half pulling out is obviously going to be seen as a victory for the Insurgency and still maintaining a smaller less capable 'target' for bombing. I feel sorry for the 100,000 troops who remain. Are the Iraqi security forces really even half ready? I have seen no evidence that they are.
