Since the thread by stickman about US Cycling getting rid of the CEO was so popular...why don't we do something? Do you really think this guy leaving is going to give some big push towards mountain biking? There needs to be an alternative to US Cycling for insurance and sanctioning of a national series. Ever since US Cycling bought NORBA they have screwed things up and I doubt they have a plan to make things better. The closest I have seen was when Candi and Mike Murray were organizing meetings with other independant cycling associations. The problem is that OBRA (Oregon Bicycle Racing Association) is still a road organization with a slight mountain bike focus.....not what we need.

Maybe someone else can chime in with a solution...but there is going to have to be a turning point if we want to survive. You can say you like the sport to be small and underground and thats fine...but in a situation like that you won't find the tech. advantages we have enjoyed.
