McSweeney's is a literary journal and publisher. They have a book club where you pay $100 and get their next ten books (whatever they are). Sometimes the book is poetry, sometimes a reprint of an 1800s madcap comedy, and sometimes it is new fiction ... you never know what you are going to get.

This month, it is

All Known Metal Bands.

"All Known Metal Bands is either an incredibly retarded or an incredibly awesome idea for a book. Possibly both."

i had a creative writing class in high school, and during the first 15 minutes of ever class you were supposed to just write....well and this goth kid and the teacher would play "metal band of the day" the teacher would go to this web page that had thousands of metal bands listed a-z and on of us would pick a letter and the other would pick a number...and so we would go to the bands that started with that letter and pick the fifth one down or whatever number it was...then we would read about that band...there was some weird band names and some weird stuff written about these bands
