how do they get around the law?
They get around the law because both parties involved are being paid and filmed by a third party.
Since the paying party is not involved in the sex its not prostitution.

And some porn stars have sex for free if it's not being filmed. I have heard more than one story of fun and games at parties around the porn awards in Vegas. It is the same week as CES (consumer electronics show).

I will chime on this really stupid topic. There are a lot of prostitution arrests in a bad neighborhood near my parents home in the Bronx. The women are in desperate financial need, and often the patrons are ugly or violent.

Pornography makes huge revenues and it attracts many people simply due to financial consideration. If you ever hear an interview with a porn star, the word they use to describe what they do is "business".

Typically, No. Prostitution is generally as providing sex for a person in exchange for money from that person. In a porn film an "actress" or "actor" takes money from a third party to produce a product (film) showing the act of sex, with a third party who isn't paying him/her.

In Arizona, "Prostitution" means engaging in or agreeing or offering to engage in sexual conduct with another person under a fee arrangement with that person or any other person.
Exactly...I agree with you 100%. It is kind of a tough question, since these "actors" and "actresses " are being paid to perform sexual acts but, like it or not, it's still acting. Kind of like when Bruce Willis gets paid to save the world in a movie...is he a real life hero? No, but he played one in a moive. Bottom line, porn stars are getting paid to produce a movie, it just happens to entail sex...
