Short answer is no. I hate the sound of mine, but have learned to live w/ it. Can't cut it off til I find a good replacement.

Take what you will from it, you can leave all 4 pawls in and manipulate the springs + add grease to have a virtually silent hub if you want:

What's with people trying to make their hubs louder or more quiet? Someone needs to design a hub with a volume knob. It's an untapped market.

Dropmachine had a review of them if I remember right.

woody has one of those hubs. he runs it single speed on his brooklyn FQ. I don't know that he's ever maintained it. He does not seem to have any problems with it. He spent a year in whistler with it.
